About the cool down of some skills vs damage output
I only really started looking at this like an hour ago, but the really cool powerful skills that are like 150 damage or something have a 55 sec. cool down. And don't get me wrong, its really powerful and can hit lots of enemies at times on top of just looking badass. But then there is things like Aqua Jet, 30 damage 2 sec. cool down. That means if you were focusing on a single enemy, you could do the same damage as that 150 damage attack within 10 seconds.

So in the same time of the one awesome attack, you can do ~750 damage, then taking time off for repositioning/dodging/aiming, you could do ~450 damage in the same time span. So is it even worth the big moves unless you're trying to wipe out a crowd? It's making me think its probably best to have one major damage skill and then two of the lowest tier skills with a 2-3 second cool down.

Anyone else have thoughts about this or even better did someone test it out to see which is even worth while in terms of overall damage?

It depends.
From a straight up DPS aspect, yes, the jets, shots, blasts, and bombs may be better options over the really big move.
Of course it depends on your situation though.
If you're fighting groups, having more aoe focused moves may be a better choice, even with the reduction in DPS.
Some moves because they're aoe may have better DPS because they can hit larger targets, like some bosses, multiple times.
Choose whatever moves suit your needs.

I usually have a variety on my mounts so that I can deal with most situations while mounted. A strong big move, an aoe move, and a fast spammable move.

Kind of more or the less the conclusion I came to. basically if you're out in the wild, variety is good, the big flashy moves are great for dealing with low level/herds of pals. But if you're Alpha/Boss hunting, its better to use and focus with the low attack spam
That's a bad idea IMO, with the faulty AI and skills like Ignis Rage which have a nice AOE but tend to miss far more than they hit you're crippling combat for what actual reason? Just to slow it down? Sounds boring to me.

That is literally the exact opposite of what I'm talking about. Also while not stated in my initial post, I'm thinking more along the lines of mounted combat where I would have direct control over their skills. The main thing that debunks my whole concept is the fact that dismounting and mounted are on separate cool downs, meaning it doesn't matter to use the longer ones because you can use all three, dismount and let them use all 3 and then remount and your cool downs should be almost up if they aren't already
