Is anyone else having issues with Anubis (In Battle)?
I'm wondering if its just me? I put him on my actual attack team, and especially in dungeons and against certain mobs (like the blackmarket guy) he just...derps out? he just freezes a lot, which I guess isn't unlike his normal style when you fight him, except in my case he really just stands there. Also in dungeons his attacks always seem to make him glitch out. Like his circle move where he jumps up, he gets stuck in the air...

Maybe I should just keep him to just for base stuff? he's great there, but for my actual attack team, not so much...

If you're using all three of Anubis' exclusive skills, all three of them will move Anubis into close range, and Anubis will only use two of them at long range (the jump attack and the dashing attack). Since allied Pals aren't dodging backwards anymore, the Anubis will move close with one ability and then just sit there and stare at the enemy until the enemy moves far enough away for it to use those two skills.

Basically we have to pray that the developers are already aware of this and will fix it in the next update. Or you could remove skills which have different range requirements for now.

Mine always tries to ram things, but he'll get stuck on the smallest topological change.

That too, I forgot to mention it, but yeah. His moves all look really cool when they work, but they all do some thing that causes him to get stuck or miss or anything. It's a shame, he's one of my best stats and skills and he's really cool...but hes by far the least effective pal on my team. His stats don't mean a thing if he never hits anything and he just has to face tank cus he's stuck

Yeah there's a lot of random bugs as the game is in early access but it's still a fun early access.

For instance.

1. Pals will tend to get stuck in base or stuck pathing, (especially LARGE pals like the mammoth ones)
- They also tend to get stuck on the top of trees or crosswalk signs, especially when playing for a few hours in another base and teleporting back for me.

2. The sword you unlock near the 40s, is often too short to be used mounted, but comically 2x oversized to the point it looks like you're neutering yourself by swinging it. Yet it is unable to reach short pokemon on the husky Lycanroc pokemon.

3. Sometimes random things can send you flying to the moon, maybe with collision on meshes or something.
- Not sure What, but i remember getting frozen then flying to the sky once in a arctic biome.

4. Mobs also get stuck a lot, sometimes when you throw pals at the breeding ranch you get a "error: Pokemon with cooling is not suitable for breeding" error if it hits a fire or something placed inside the breeding area.

And yeah, mobs are prone to freezing if they get stuck and sometimes you can soft lock yourself out of being able to mine or make moves if you interrupt the animation to do something.
- Cause unclear, but usually pressing e to animation unfreeze your pokemon helps too.

It's early access and still about as buggy as Skyrim was left, but it's still a fun game with about 50-100 hrs of sandbox gameplay for 1-50, and i guess technically replayable if you wanted to make 1-50s all over again or max or breed the rarest pals or replay in a new zone.

But i feel like im fine doing it once haha and having fun and capping.

1. How long are the cooldowns on its skills? Many pals will "derp out" when they have nothing better to do while waiting for their 30s + cooldowns on their skills.

2. I think something the developers did in the last update really messed with the allied Pal combat AI, because they aren't dodging backwards like they used to when they were too close to an enemy to use a skill. I've noticed that my pals are very strict about having the right distance from an enemy before using their skill, and so they'll either slowly walk backwards or just sit there and stare at an enemy until the enemy moves far enough away for them to use their skill. The only two workarounds I've found is to lure the boss away from them if the boss is targeting me or resummon my pal far enough away that it can move forward to the range it wants to use its skill at.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm really having fun still. I just wondered if anyone else was having issues with anubis among other things.

^now that you brought it up, I am actually somewhat aware that my pals are just generally taking hits a lot more than they used to. This was about anubis getting stuck and face tanking, but I can think of a few pals now that definitely aren't as agile as they were. My Lunaris used to zip around and just do all sorts of carpet bombing tatics. She still does them, but she doesn't move around as much anymore and subsequently gets battered (although unlike anubis, its not like she gets stuck)

About your first point, I'm pretty sure anubis' cool downs are pretty high, but that's why he has that dodge skill. Which isn't working because he's bugged out and frozen. It works fine when I'm fighting him myself, but my own Anubis just kinda gets stuck on environment obstacles

The problems I see with my anubis is that they wont transport anything down a set of stairs. They will transport items UP a set of stairs just fine, but going down seems to screw with them.

Talking about battle, not base things. I'm having almost zero problems in base with anubis (main thing is they will always prioritize doing the stone quarry instead of natural resources) but other than that no issues.

This is just about having him on your actual team and using him in combat

he is buggy in both. Also your title "Is anyone else having issues with Anubis?" not "Is anyone else having issues with Anubis in battle?" so don't get on the off topic horse >.<
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It did slip my mind that people only read titles and don't bother to read posts, so I fixed it

...Is that their fix for the "pathing" issue? cus that seriously sucks, I hope this is like a bandaid while they find a better solution, cus if this is a permanent thing, anubis just out right sucks then

I did read your post as well, while you say your issues are in battle, You also bring up keeping it for the base, which brings the base in to this topic. so yea, which is why I brought up what I see happen in bases.

I can see why Anubis would be especially impacted by this, since the range requirement for those two skills is twice as far as most pal ranged skills. So almost every enemy in the game won't move far enough away on their own for Anubis to use two of its exclusive skills after the start of the fight.
