There's probably a market overlap and say even if you love a system like l4d2, where l4d2 coded each limb, each shot, each weapon. There were only like 1-7 zombies vs 122 pals.
It would likely just lean to splatters or generic things and i think if you just wanted blood splatters a mod would be able to do that fine. Some people ask for excessive gore but even if people separate fiction from reality, some lay people who aren't healthy don't.
Like gta5 won't make you rob a bank, but someone mentally ill naming a character after someone they hate just to [redacted] isn't a good look for a game to have.
Palworld is a game but i feel like the shock value is done, the game got famous, it's gonna fight for a slice of the pie. L4d2 and Splatoon both exist, yet parents buy kids splatoons and ban them from l4d2s/mortal combat simply on gore.
People who play for gameplay buy the game, people who play for gore just get bored anyways. Shock humor has a limited audience and while some can find it cool, i think it could erode some of the young generation / family gift market popularity if you added mandatory gore to the mix.
I like the option of sweet or sweatshop but i think official gore might be overdoing it, the mod route sounds better. If someone isn't solely playing a game because +- Gore, there's probably a extremely limited market for it.
"You can torture people, but never hurt the dog."
That said, I do know that Nexus does pretty much what it wants when it comes to moderation.
I can blow a dogs head off in fallout and cut off a horse head in skyrim with mods
Let's just wait and see, it's not like either outcome is gonna ruin my life or something.
I will admit that I do execute cult members in their sleep. Can't raid me if they're dead.
