With Pokemon EV's were fine as they gave a way to strategically customise your mon, but IVs? Eat a dill hole.
Grinding perfect passives/IV isnt fun? Then, don't do it.
in early access no less
It like fishing , to simple people , you only need a rod and a bait to catch a fish , but professional pick selected bait and go all theirs way to get into the best spot , somewhere a normal hommie would complain why it is so hard to go there .
The current mutator system should be changed to be more user-friendly and the casual crowd still benefit from it even if they don't care .
So try to explain to me in simple words, like I was 4.
How breeding 500+ pals / pokemon to get perfect IV's is fun?
Explain to me how sitting there for hours on end crafting cakes to wait for 2 pals to breed to wait for the egg to hatch only to repeat the process when it does not have perfect IVs "engaging" or "fun"?
How does it ADD to the game in a meaningful way?
Because from what I know of competitive pokemon NO ONE likes breeding for IVs and 9/10 pros will just pay some one to do it for them.
Your fishing example breaks down when you realise that selecting bait and location is purely just knowledge based, there is no wasted time or repetitive tasks.
It's as simple as knowing your target and purchasing the appropriate equipment and locating the most likely locations your target hangs around in.
Breeding for perfect IV's have none of that, it's a repetitive time consuming mind numbing task of doing the exact same thing over and over again followed by wasting time while you wait for them to breed / egg to hatch.
There is no skill, no anticipation just randomly chosen numbers and waiting.
