Level up 2 jords to kill bahamut a few times, take those bahamut to capture the frostallion, I do both twice.
Then take those 2 frostallions to capture jet, when one frost gets to half life, swap him out for the other and let him heal a bit inside the ball.

alright so

I set my base near jetdragon and just had 20 pals beat his ass until he submit

Step 1: set difficulty to custom, make everything easy as possible
Step 2: get sword, heat resistant metal armor, and legendary spheres
Step 3: fight it and drag him around rocks and trees until it gets stuck (no pal summon)
Step 4: smack it in the face with sword until 1% and toss some legendary spheres

I caught several this way, it never fails

Edit: up to you if getting it stuck and abusing bad AI is considered cheating

Wait until night and keep throwing balls at him from behind while he is sleeping. You will get him eventually

Totally this. Get a lot of ice type Pals, put them in the base (the lower area of a PalBox), then aggro Jetty and watch the show! Don't forget to change those, that faint for others, but this is definitely the best way to pacify him/her.

The dude is a dragon, but a lot of its attacks are fire attacks, so I suggest bringing 5 strong fire pals (Blazamut, Jormuntide Ignis, etc) and giving them ice skills. Next, bring tons of ice mines and ice grenades and finally bring LOTS of legendary spheres. To be on the safe side, bring at least 50 of them. Oh and if you're feeling brave, feel free to bring a stun baton too.

Now go fight the b*stard. Throw one of your pals at it and go hide behind a rock or climb up really high until his aggro shifts to your pal. When that finally happens, just throw a bunch of ice explosives at him.

When your pal is on the verge of dying, quickly switch with another pal before it dies and keep up the assault until dah salamence wannabe is almost kaput. If you brought a stun baton with you, hit it a few times until it becomes stunned (stunned foes are a lot easier to capture) and once thats done, start throwing legendary spheres at it like a madman and cross your fingers.
