Alphas from eggs

so reading the notes i noticed its been said that you can now get alphas from eggs. i'm curious though if it matters where the egg is from. i've been trying to breed a super chillette and havn't gotten a single alpha hatch yet.

so i'm curious if anyone has obtained an alpha from breeding or if its just from finding the eggs randomly or rewards from the new raid.

You cannot get an alpha pal from eggs attained from breeding. On the wiki it reads that only wild eggs can contain alpha pals, so I would guess that it was a typo in patch notes/ translation. To back that up I have bred 10 pals already with perfect passives and very good stats (using mods to speed up the breeding time). All of them are 4* now so that would be at least 1200 eggs that I've hatched. No alpha pals. But I did hatch an alpha Bellanoir after like 6-th attempt?

The Alpha hatches are RNG, but most of the time Alpha Eggs are Huge Eggs. Example, now if you find an Huge Ice Egg it may be one of the normal 3 (Cryst Mammo, Cryst Kingpaca, or Frostallion), or it might be an Alpha Chillet. You can also find them in the wild, you don't have to breed for them.

And you can get Alpha from breeding, it's just super rare. I got an Alpha Grizzbolt from Breeding.

but grizzbolt is a huge egg hatch right? it might just be huge eggs then? or egg size correlates to odds of an alpha hatch?

i doubt egg size would correlate, egg size is dependent on the type of pal inside, you wont have a huge scorching egg with foxsparks in it.

Its RNG but maybe breeding with an alpha pal improves chances.

yeah i thought this too, so, when i thought it i pulled my one alpha chillette and started breeding it with a normal one that has all the stats and traits i want on it (save for 1, still need to get divine dragon on there as well. just making him have all the silly skills i can cram on em.) 100 eggs in and no new alpha. but i COULD chalk that up to just having terrible luck.

but thats why im askin here, so we can see at the end of the day under what circumstances do alphas hatch. who knows? we may uncover unintended function aka a bug in the egg system involving alphas and the devs patch it.

you can find it in the wild, they are huge egg_type eggs, locate at random place. If you randomly found an huge egg in a random low level area, I can tell you it was an alpha egg.

so alpha eggs are only huge? and we wont see any alphas from breeding? thats the whole point of this discussion. i understand the wild found ones but im trying to confirm with certainty that breeding either does or doesnt and if it does what if any limitations there might be since its not explicitly mentioned in the patch notes what the rules for these alpha eggs are.

Yes Alpha Eggs are Huge only. Basically what this update did is add more to the Huge Eggs pools.

Alpha Eggs can be bred, so if you get a Huge egg in breeding and you know it's not supposed to be huge, you know it's an Alpha. But this chance is very slim.

HOWEVER.

In the wild if you find a Huge Egg, it may not be what you're looking for, it may just be an Alpha pal of that element. Basically it lowered the chances of finding rarer Pals in Huge Eggs by adding new Pals to the Pool that are usually smaller eggs. So keep an eye out for Huge Eggs.

I put two alpha Mossanda Lux into the breeding pen and did not get an alpha egg. Might try it again to see if I can get one, considering I now know it's chance based.

I put two alpha Mossanda Lux into the breeding pen and did not get an alpha egg. Might try it again to see if I can get one, considering I now know it's chance based.

yeah i had an alpha and normal chillette in the pen but about 70 or so in and not a single alpha hatch. so my goin theory is:

if alphas from breeding is possible it might only be for pals that hatch from huge eggs only.

still gonna keep grindin away to make a powerful chillette for no other reason than using him and only him to beat the new raid boss, plus an army of close seconds at the same time.

Nah it's not from just Huge Eggs only from breeding, it's just super slim chance for any breeding. The alpha will just come in a Huge Egg.

Basically what they've done is made Huge egg mean more than rare Pal. It can mean Alpha now.
