There is this new option to allow taking things out of workstations.
Maybe that's active and allows them to eat the cake?

well i cant seem to find that option, but if cook cake with a cooking pot they dont touch it, they are just eating them out of the electric oven

The option can be found before starting the crafting order. Above the "Start production" button, there is a checkbox "allow transport"
I don't have this checkbox active and 942 cakes in there that aren't getting eaten

Well who wouldn't like to eat cake?
Do you not have food baskets...?

do they really have the eating animation right at the oven? or do they take it out and dump it in the food basket and eat it out of there? have you got nothing else in the food basket?

That actually makes sense. Same end result, but would follow how it's supposed to work.

But if that's not what's happening, should probably be submitted as a bug!

if both are close together it might even look almost the same. transporting over a small gap can happen instantly and if the pal was already hungry enough it'll start eating immediately as soon as food is in the basket.
