Just admit that Palworld's optimization is dog water
I don't care if you're some culture warrior trying to nae nae on pokemon because of silly fork knife ""pokemon"" game

This game worked perfectly fine 3 months ago, and stopped working properly last month. This game requires higher specs than nearly every modern game that looks 100x better, is crashing constantly, and now people (including my friend) are reporting the game literally shutting down their PC.

There is absolutely no excuse. I put in a feedback using the form, and Pocket Pair has refused to fix the optimization problems. Meanwhile everyone says it's my "specs" being the issue
Ryzen 7 5800X
128GB DDR4 RAM
RTX 2080ti
Running the game on an M.2 SSD

And y'all keep telling me "oh these specs are too weak". For a game that looks like it was made 10 years ago? Excuse me?

Why on earth do you need 128GB of DDR4 RAM. Also why not switching to DDR5 RAM since your motherboard should be compatible.

Because I posted on here last month saying I had 16GB RAM for people to tell me it "wasn't enough", so I bought 128GB RAM to prove y'all wrong.

My motherboard is incompatible with DDR5 so I got the fastest DDR4 RAM available.

And people STILL tell me it's my hardware

I don't know ♥♥♥♥ about optimization, but palworld runs fine for me. Never had a crash. Buggy as hell though, of course. Those who have troubles will agree with you, and those who don't, will just tell you its your specs or some ♥♥♥♥. I, being ignorant of how optimization works, can only say it's fine for me. I'm sure someone will say its poorly optimized and I'll just say okay sure, I believe you, but it's fine for me. I probably just have lower standards or something, idk. At 60fps it feels buttery smooth and I haven't had a crash. I would never lie about some video game I have no part in profiting from lol.

It's completely fair to say it works for you, but downright unfair to tell someone else it's their hardware when they run well above the recommended specs and can't run the game at minimum settings.

PC Configurations can cause issues for games, at no fault to the hardware. It's entirely the responsibility of a game developer and publisher to ensure that their PC game works on the most common PC Configurations.

Ok what, why would you do that, why would you waste money in that to prove "them"? that is one of the most careless uses of money I've seen, not to mention, a bit petty? like come on mate, it shows that yeah you probably did something bad with your hardware if you're that rash.

Correct.
And since the game is running perfectly fine on said most common PC Configurations i don't see the problem.

Well i see the problem, your problem.
And it really sucks.

But it's not a "damn this games optimisation is dogwater" - levels of problem, cause if that was the case we wouldn't see most palworld players simply playing the game. The www would be flooded with topics like this.
You came on too quick in the first sentence. You're not going to get any points being that obvious.

Then tell me what's wrong with my hardware. Where am I below minimum specs?

Of the top threads on the FIRST PAGE of this game's discussion forums, 6 topics are all about the game not running well.

Fair. Yeah, every single game I've played, I end up on the forums at some point while I'm at work and there is 100% always some people who have problems running the game. Idk why. Just there's always gonna be problems for some people, it seems. And when it's a game where I have problems I go yeah optimization sucks lol.

You don't dictate to me how I'm doing with my money. For one it's completely off-topic, and for two it's simply not true. I have a high-paying job and still make sure I have proper savings.

But what else do I expect from grifters like you who grasp at straws?
High paying job or not, just spending money to "prove people wrong" its just careless, like you dont know how to manage your money well. Maybe you should learn to control your anger issues so it doesnt end up affecting you or someone close to you

You are missing your own point here.
Your specs are totally fine, in fact they are really good.

But PC games have the nasty issue that a certain amount of players will be ♥♥♥♥ out of luck, specs be damned. There are always some hardware/software/driver/setting combinations that result in piss poor performance. This holds true for more or less all pc games i have ever played.

Oh, and a couple of topics about bad performance here on steam mean nothing, right now at this very moment there are close to a 100.000 players playing the game on steam alone. How many of those are complaining about bad performance? Very few, but very few out of a pool of MILLIONS of game owners can still amount to a decent number of topics here.

Doesn't change the fact that the game is indeed running fine for the vast majority of players, many of them with worse pc specs than your own.

Oh, and keep in mind:
The game just got a major update, that alone created a whole new batch of technical issues, hence the rather active community right now. A week ago the forum was even tamer.

In short:
You got unlucky.
I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but it's the reality we live in.

The game never crashed on me besides when I poorly installed mods at first. Been playing since release
The game has some stutter issues mostly due to autosaving every 30 seconds, but otherwise runs just fine at a constant 60 FPS except when a raid is happening or many pals are fighting around the same place

Your problem could be anything. Sometimes it's as simple has being on an older version of Windows or having some settings weirdly configured for the game or Windows itself

"A couple of topics" bro it's majority of the discussion forum posts here, what are you talking about? People are also complaining in the news updates between all the pokemon grifters and people who can actually play the game.

If the stuttering I got last month were due to auto-saves, then they severely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up this game. January / February I had no stuttering from auto-save, starting last month I got this issue. Now the game is unplayable for my friends and myself. I have ONE friend who can play Palworld rn, and he's on Steam Deck running performance mods up the ass, and still gets performance issues.
