They were unprepared. They were known to not finish games already. They were ready to make this one also a eternal early access. But the huge sales came, so much money. They were at loss of what to do. So probably many things were on hold to figure things out. Meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings. etc

So.... Just to get this straight, you are comparing a completed game versus a EA game? I doubt the developers were excepting the reaction they got and as more content is available, people will come back. In the meantime, I believe the developers have mentioned that you are free to play other games while you wait for new content.

Helldivers is a completed game and a live service, while Palworld is in EA and not. People have finished everything there is to do in Palworld for now and have moved onto other things. The numbers will likely spike again once we get a big update.

it does however have the base to become bigger than Pokemon, however I doubt the developers have as much passion as the Pokemon developers.

palworld was heavily compared to pokemon while simultaneously accused of being done by AI and copying pokemon models, so when i saw comments that this game is going to replace pokemon i also lel'd.

pokemon is a gigantic company and palworld is an EA title from a small team that dont play alike at all. i'm still shocked at how popular this game got. game's good (positive reviews on steam) but 2 million active players on steam is insane for an EA title

I agree, this thing crashed and burned with no new content and helldivers is releasing small amounts of new content on a weekly basis in a fun and organic way. But helldivers is an original game with a great original concept. Palworld is not that in any way
