The current map has a lot more value. Beautiful landscapes, good places to setup a base, exploration is fun.
I think replay value is determine by players. For example a shooting game only had that few limited small maps, but it can be replay for decades when different players logged in everyday. I've long finished palworld, but when I start it all over with another friend, the fun experience is back all over again. Friend needs certain pal to work better or to defend. New base setup at a new place and you have new things to manage. You'd never run out of things to do.
