How to use the "machine gun" structure?
I build the structure that has a machine gun in it. However, I can't interact with it or throw a pal there. How can I make use of it? And is it worth it at later stages?

Insert ammo into structure and assign Lamball to it.

You have to add the ammo for it into nearby containers and pray the pals notice when you assign them. The weapons emplacements are currently basically useless, actually worse than useless because the pals do more damage on thier own, it takes resources and it uses up a pal who could be better off doing virtually anything else. Its a decoration, nothing more.

Thanks! Good to know. This means that all those ad images of sheep with guns were more of wishful thinking.

Unfortunately at the moment, yes. Well built, smart bases currently confuse the AI of enemies and Base Pals alike. The pieces are all there, but no ones interacting with them right. Still plenty of work to do before we get to the vibe the trailers, ads and shop images display.

If it's any comfort, all of the gun Pal Gear are pretty good (Grizzbolt minigun, Mossanda grenade launcher, Lifmunk submachine gun etc)

Well to be fair, if your base is confusing the ai of your workers, it's not that smart. Simple bases with a lot of wide open space are the smartest bases.
