Here is a good video that explains the system and also talks about IVs. I don't breed for IVs but they are good to know about if you really want to min-max.

- It seems easier for me to get all the 4 traits I want with the parents having 2 of the traits each and nothing else.
- If the parents have 3 traits each, the likeliness of getting a random trait is more likely for some reason. I use this when a pal is difficult to hunt and I want a certain trait that none of the parents have. I gacha the fuack out of it. And it somehow works.
- There is always a chance to get a child with just 1 or 2 trait or just plain a full copy of a parent.
With that in mind, just keep breeding. Set aside the pals that get 1 or 2 traits. Breed the pals with 1 trait to make a pal with 2 traits. then finally when you have 2 parents with 2 different traits each, breed them til you get the pal you want.
You will think you will be breeding enough to get a 4 star pal from the condenser, but no, you wont.
What I think would be an excellent addition to the game is a new medicine that allows deleting a selected trait off a pal to help with this process.
