Common combo of single shot rifle (2300 base atack hell yea)+ shotgun and pistol
For major bosses Assault rifle and ocasional Rocket
but my primary weapon to go is always the pump shotgun (sometimes double barrel just for the sound) and pistol.
Usually my first pick and universal choice and works very well with every bosses you see in the game especially most end game bosses such as legendary pals.
Reason
- Both weapon and ammo are cheap and low resource and not hard to found either.
- It can be unlocked at early level (but at this point you may defeated Zoe & Grizzbolt already) and no schematic that give you headache to find either.
- It can gives poison DOT status and every pals in the game (includes tower bosses) are vulnerable to poison which can gradually cut boss HP with satisfied percentage damage especially legendary pals where they have high damage reduction which make almost all guns damage aren't look impressive if you didn't bring a bunch of Gobfins and spell blade pal that give your gun element in your party.
- Combination with pal with attack moves that may gives Burn DOT status (such as Fire element attack) you can now have 2 DOT to them at same time (but Fire pals immune this, so only poison), drain their HP pretty quickly and ended your fight sooner.
- Poison DOT status also improved your catch rate as well (can stack and improved further with Burn DOT) this will come be more handy for catching any Alpha pals too where they have low catch rate.
My second choice would be Assault Rifle.
Confortable and easily to uses, decent damage, short reload, can stand at safety position, that's all.
Again, not impressive damage for legendary pals through even gold one but still being best weapon of choice (for me at least).
Before Mercy Ring appeared, it will be (either normal or gold) Neutral Crossbow for low to medium level pals to try catching them, but now there no needed anymore.
By the way first slot always be Grappling Gun.
it run all most never out of ammo. tho even the legendary version not that good for dps.
them it the assault rifle for boss only. it chew too ammo way too much
