Craftopia isn't finished...
I have no problem with them doing another survival crafting mash-up game when they abandoned their first game and haven't finished the second, but because it is in the same genre, I'm worried they'll repeat the mistakes especially since they have NOT fixed them in their currently unfinished game.

This is all assuming that they don't run into various other issues before they even publish it...

I’m all for healthy discussion and conversation on these things but I think some people are getting a bit heated over things that, let’s be honest, you don’t actually know much about.

Anyway, here’s the facts:
- There was never any splitting of the Craftopia team to start work on Palworld.

- Craftopia hasn’t been abandoned. The current update being worked on (Seamless World) is a major rewriting of a lot of the code and is taking longer than expected. The team has been trying to put out update posts about it every couple of months.

- The Palworld team is made up of new developers with Takuro (the CEO) overseeing both projects.

- No resources or funding was taken from Craftopia.

- Both games are being developed on different engines.
Unity for Craftopia. UE for Palworld.

I understand the worry and skepticism, I really do. Consistently communicating these things can be difficult due to needing to translate everything into English and sometimes plans change so fast it can be hard to keep up with everything.

If you’re genuinely interested in the ongoings of the team then I encourage you to join our Discord where you can get news and info much faster as well as talk with other players.

Whether you choose to believe the team or not is entirely up to you.
Either way, both games are being developed and we hope you look forward to Palworld coming soon! :)

I mean, not true. But, AAA games at least have the resources to make games.

This dev does not.

If they don't polish up Craftopia and make better animations, tighter combat and open world they have promised... then I won't be getting PalWorld.

No one said Craftopia was abandoned, I said their "FIRST" game was abandoned - Craftopia is their second game...
I'll say what everyone else has already said.

A few "friends" of the Craftopia team decided they wanted to make a game which we now know as Palworld, because they liked some of the content / mechanics in the game Craftopia. So these "friends" who are using assets from Craftopia are working on the game Palworld, which are new individuals that make up a second team.

So at the end of the day the team gained new members for their team, and as a result are working on two similar projects instead of just one.

It's like if I was working on a game, and you asked me if you could have a copy of the games framework to build your own game concept off of.

BEWARE this dev guys. They haven't finished Craftopia, and it's still a buggy piece of crud that's been in "Early Access" for two years with tons of "Delays". Meanwhile, they are making this "new" game that suspiciously looks like Craftopia, uses a lot of Craftopia stuff, but parodies Pokemon -- but with guns? Seriously guys, these devs are like totally just trying to make a quick buck on the meme value of that alone.

I keep reading some "friends" and stuff like that, but I haven't read anything of the sort from anything anywhere. So where is this? And have they proven they have the extra members?

Nothing wrong with being in early access for an eternity. If someone was going to abandon a game it makes no difference if it's marked as early access or full release.

The only time I'd ever wait for a full release of a game is rpgs since I'm not likely to do a full run through again, or I'd like them to stop updating every week and breaking all my mods.

Considering I've never heard of it, I highly doubt it.
Rage all you want, fact remains having an early access has nothing to do with the quality of the game, a game can easily be released ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and abandoned without it.
