Question about Pals, Leveling and Raids.
Question - Combat Pals
I guess you only start worrying at least once you unlock breeding?
Because I dont feel I have any 'combat pals' to that point. I mean, some pals have either Defense buff or Attack buff, and that's it.

About leveling/progression.
I feel I level way too fast compared to the pals in my party... Is there a way to level them to my level without me always overleveling them? Or is that intended and the game expect me to reach level cap asap?

About Raids
At which point they happen?
I am at level 22 and not a single raid so far.
I wish I would experience this mechanic I did read about.

Playing Normal Settings, nothing changed.

I've received two raids by level 7. Neither was severe: three human criminals with axes and then a wolf and two lizards wanting to eat me. As my Pals have been consistently outleveling me, and I'm also on Normal, I suspect the difference is in playstyles. I've been mostly scavenging, rarely going out to capture another Pal, overfocusing on basic survival and staying close to home while slowly trying to learn the beginning zone.

I'm usually use alpha pal for combat pal with the best passive skill I can get. Because the alpha is the only source for Ancient Civilization Parts, so I farm it a lot.

afaik. unfortunately for low level pal team, there's no other way than keep bringing them to fight alpha/tower/dungeon boss to catch up with you.

probably the raid setting is off? you can check and change it before started the world. There's several base location that are difficult for raid to spawn. My base nearby first tower is often get raid. the other base at small island in desert area never get one.

I guess It could say I invested too much into capturing pals too fast but.. Just figured that was intended.

Question - Combat Pals

As you level up, the passives and abilities of the pals start becoming more and more differentiated. A huge part of it is also the element type. I am level 50, and I have to have a hand full of powerful pals of different types to attack the big guys.

Lunaris was one of my fav early-mid combat pals. Seems to be fairly tanky to start, and does good damage. Go around and grab the ability fruits from the trees and feed them all to him. Then swap out his abilities for the pal you want to attack to give his attacks an advantage. You will lose the (STAB) bonus, but being able to use different element type attacks the pal is weak to seems to help a lot.

Anubis is really powerful late game. He can dodge attacks (which lets him survive just a bit longer) while increasing your own attacks with earth. He is also super fast and hits hard.

If you can grab a Frostallion really late game, they are super tanky. They are great for pulling out during long fights to absorb damage, while your high dps pals heal up to pull out again. They are also almost god teir for capturing though. Be prepared for this fight.

About leveling/progression.

It really depends how often you switch out your pals. If you switch them out often, then they are going to feel like they lag way behind you.

If you want to have a pal that levels with you, then try to catch some that are a few levels above you. Since they will be higher level, they will instantly level when you do. I was able to catch a frostallion at level 45, and it was instantly max level every time I leveled.

Alternatively, you can take your lower level pals and go kill some really high level guys and catch them up pretty quickly. They tend to always be a 1-2 levels behind you if they fell behind at any point, due to the exponential xp curve required for them to level.

About Raids

If you are talking about base raids, they tend to happen if you idle at your base, or return to your base after a long period of time.

They do not seem to happen while you are away from your base.

If you are talking about the "raid bosses" then you have to go to the little tower icons to start the boss raid event.
