Can we stop saying "Palworld is a small indie studio that's understaffed"
Halo 1 launched with 40 developers.
If you log into the game the Credits option is listed on the start screen. There are over 150 main developers that work/worked on Palworld. To say it's a "Small indie studio that's understaffed" is just out-dated and spreading misinformation at this point. There's actually MULTIPLE studios that work/worked on Palworld.

Not only are there 82* ish main developers, I'm not counting another 100+ that fill other positions at the company. This being SFX devs, voice actors, the community managers, admins of various platforms, mods, translators, etc. The original 150 I guessed turns out to be wrong, based off of melonLord's analysis of the credits list done below.

Check them here yourself, or check in-game, or Google the following link:
https://www.pocketpair.jp/palworld/palworld-credit

Edit: melonLord has graciously done the due diligence of going through everyone on the list and coming to the conclusion that there's 82 people whom work/worked on Palworld.
While it could be more, or less, I'll take their word for it.

This is still a tad above a "small indie studio" and would probably place Pocketpair in the A or AA bracket.

Okay anyway, via the way back machine it seems that the people they're bringing on to help with continued development (at least for the short term) are actually those previously mentioned contracted development teams as a large majority of em weren't in the credits early on.

Probably cause I didn't compare Nintendo to Pocketpair from the start. You can't inject random BS into an argument and actually expect it to be taken serious. When I said Pocketpair isn't a small indie studio I meant as a whole, not compared to 1 other singular company.

Who would had thought, Pocketpair wasn't as large as a company that's worth 63 Billion. What an outstanding discovery you've put forth. We should definitely discuss this further instead of the title of the thread.

For the millions of players that Pocketpair just got, yeah, they're understaffed to handle it.

This isn't news.

The entire premise of the title is now just a lie to push your triple digit subscriber YouTube channel.

Millions? Hey I love the game just as much as the next guy on here but to say it has millions...Have you not kept up with the charts? If there's 300k daily players, that means similar numbers for Xbox. Its been said before that both Xbox and PC share a similar amount of players. One can assume there's maybe half a million to 3/4 of a million total players.

I didn't add that YT vid until we made it to page 5 of people arguing over the workload and legitimacy of the credits list. Blame the trolls for living under a rock. I'm just offering them a nicer rock to live in.

If you say so tho, 80+ developers is definitely a small indie studio. LOL
( the charts are just concurrent players. Actual player count is inherently going to be higher overall)

I can't say that I'm warming to be much of a fan with your misinformation.

If you think concurrent users equals a loss of playerbase waiting to explore new content as it is released, as even the CEO of Pocketpair invited people to go play other games after this initial phase of Early Access to wait for new content, then you really don't have your finger ANYWHERE near "the pulse" of Palworld or even Early Access games.

Pocketpair need to be prepared for 1.0. For a game that has and can reach millions of concurrent users again, 81 devs is very small. And yes, they're still indie.

Shrieking because they've gone past your personal definition for what a small indie can be in scope of their own development is your clickbait - by points and people tuned into your channel it doesn't look like many are interested in subscribing to your issues.

I can't blame em.

With "millions" of players, I can't say I really care to suck the toes of people like you that spend hours trying to argue with me over semantics that nobody cares about.

All you've done is ride off of other peoples points cause you can't form your own. Talk about Yes-Man mentality. It must be appalling to hear that I don't really care if the handful of trolls here subscribe to my channel. I'm not here to lick the toes of every person that comes across it. Especially not ones such as yourself, that serve no purpose other than to try and bait me into pointless debates.

82* devs is not small or considered an indie studio. Weird how you're going to argue with me on that number, while the person that made the number and agrees it's not an indie studio, is in the chat and you've not said a word to him about it. :)

When you have something meaningful to say, I'll reply to it. Until then, you're about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

Meanwhile, your entire brand is ♥♥♥♥ up because of semantics in the title.

I don't need to go any further than that.
Can't wait for the next guy to argue about anything other than the point of the thread. Sure is fun replying to people about off-topic things that only they bring up and care about.

There was no point to the thread other than your bait of semantics, misinformation, and now petulance.

Damn bros pulling out the uno reverse card on me. Good one man.
I forgot I wasn't replying to you anymore. Ah well, you have nothing better to do than beg for my attention. I have spare time before my next vid comes out anyway. I'll give you the attention that your parents never did.

Not to mention plugging a tiny YouTube channel.

But it does beg the question: What is the OP's definition of a "small indie studio"? What is the minimum to be still considered that?

Ew, gross. Not a bad topic for discussion but then you used the attention to shovel in a plug for your Youtube channel?

Serious ick.

You're the one presuming "we" in the OP like you're some kind of authority, but instead you've only established the opposite.

Every result I can find on Google, (you're welcome by the way) states that a small indie studio is one that has only a few developers, and is independent from large publishers.

Is 82 considered "a few" cause I thought "a few" was less than a handful.
Is Pocketpair considered "independent" of large publishers? cause I thought Epic Games was pretty large. If they were independent of Epic Games, how did they have meetings with the Epic Games team on launch to help with them?

https://gamerant.com/palworld-epic-games-meeting/#:~:text=The%20team%20promptly%20released%20an,errors%20should%20start%20to%20disappear

Is independence also a word for getting help these days?
