Need option to disable Aim Assist.
Is there a way to disable it? The aim assist is absolutely terrible. I shouldn't even call it aim "assist" as the projectiles will completely disregard the target and track something else halfway to the edge of the screen just because it's closer. Then it won't even hit that target. I hadn't even noticed anything until this patched screwed over the private the server I've been playing on but it's so bad.

From what I've seen only a couple of skills track the enemy when you fire them and yeah on certain pals especially flying ones it stinks out loud. Best you can do is just use other skills until it gets attention.

I cant remember what pal but its one on the south sanctuary when you goto aim your weapon goes straight up and the auto aim fights you to actually correct it.

I agree. There is no mod yet to disable aim assist.

That's annoying but could be worse, like teleport you back to base as a bug/feature as Lock On Laser did.

Its bad, but as controller player is better than not have it.

As a controller player, it is worse than not having it. I can aim perfectly fine on my own.

I’m a year late to this, but you can disable them in the PalworldServerSetting.imo file by setting ControllerAimAssist to False

IMO the big issue is that the aim assist always aims for the GEOMETRICAL CENTER of a pal, which works for a lot of them but not for pals which large horns, wings etc.
(For instance it's ridiculously hard to hit Vanwyrm with a firearm, since it has very large wings, but a very small body)

The way I'd solve this would be to give each pal a designated "center of mass" bone in the model data, this point is what the autoaim would snap to. This way the autoaim would still follow animations properly, but not be affected by extraneous body parts.

Yeah this needs to be added, skills aim for the centre of flying Pals and miss because it's underneath their feet for some reason.

In your local world, you instead change it (if you're on PC) by changing the WorldOptions.sav's ControllerAimAssist to false
