how is it for a single player?
I much prefer playing solo, but some games just don't work as well that way. How about this game? Is it playable and enjoyable on your own?

That's pretty much 99% of my play time. It's very much enjoyable solo since you have all the pals to help you with whatever you want them to, and they'll keep doing that when you're on your journey away from the base. There's pretty much no annoying mechanics that would require multiple players to alleviate the pain, too.

It's alot more feasible playing solo then Ark at least, out of the box.

I started playing in a small group, but they have since quit to wait for bug fixes and other improvement, while I moved to single player. Other than having my game freeze during quick save latter into play it works pretty good in single player, game balance doesn't seem to be an issue, but the game is easier in a group, but you can still play single player without much of a problem just build a good Pal team and move into the more dangerous areas slowly. I would suggest disabling NPC raids the 1st time you play while you are learning the basics as it can be distracting for new single players if you are constantly under attack. Game freezes only seem to happen after 2 or more hours of game play and then mostly if you are on a flying Pal exploring or doing caves, it seems tied to a memory leak causing the save file to grow larger until the game crashes.

I play on mostly single player with mods and raised rates. I played vanilla for a while on easy mode but whether you enjoy a challenge or just want to relax I think it's a very fun solo game!

I find the game very enjoyable solo. It is a light survival game, which means the survival mechanics aren't very hard to deal with. (for example you will not die of starvation, instead your health will go down to 1 until you eat again) Also you can alleviate the grind by using your pals effectively at your base(s). (which is why a lot of players have at least set up one dedicated mining base) Finally there are also human NPCs and encampments spread throughout the world, which makes the world feel decently lively. (for me at least)

It's good. You can set the world settings anytine you want

Want more pals in your bace? Put it up in the settings. Want more/less xp, edit the settings. Want to do more/less damage or take more/less damage, edit the settings

Singleplayer works fine. Since so much of the game's progression includes affording your supplies, having more players doesn't speed things up very much. This means that the experience is pretty balanced for everybody.

I will say that the combat is much easier with friends, which is already quite manageable by yourself. Thankfully, there's like 25 world settings to fine-tune the experience, ranging from hunger to damage to XP to looting to day/night cycle speed.

You'll definitely do okay.

(P.S. Made it to the end-game by myself on default world settings. Except I turned the raids off, because I go AFK way too often and you can't pause the game in singleplayer.)

I've only been playing solo so far. You can adjust the level of difficulty as you like, whether you want it to be easy or difficult with the survival mechanics. In contrast to many other survival games, the base here is also busy. In other games you only build for yourself. In Palworld, however, your pals work in the base, which breathes some liveliness into the entire survival genre.

Like many other things, you can change the difficulty later in the world setting if you like it more challenging or easier.

The only important thing is that you set your own goal. Since there is currently no real story and many people simply rush through the game, which currently consists of 5 bosses, they unfortunately miss out on a lot of what makes such games so attractive.

If you expect an exciting story, complex mechanics or action at every corner, you probably won't be happy here. In my opinion, Palworld is more something to relax and enjoy. The scenic views look fantastic and if you take your time with everything you can appreciate the world accordingly.

As an example, I play in such a way that I only get 10% of the exp. In addition, I will only use flight mounts at maximum level. Even after several hours, I still enjoy exploring the world, catching new Pals and experimenting with breeding. You just have to know what brings you joy. Once you've climbed such a high mountain, you're happy when you find an egg or a box there, instead of just checking it out with a flying mount.

Play Palworld either alone or with very good friends who pursue similar goals. And take your time while playing. Palworld is too beautiful to just rush through once and then throw away.

Yes it is. I always prefer to game solo and love the game.

You like single player. you will totally enjoy it, I think. I honestly do not think id like sharing a world with people. playing on the same game since it came out and enjoy it pretty much feels like a single player game to me not seeing an appeal to MP at all. even at launch id probably play the same i am now. ♥♥♥♥ we already have pals in the game. (see what I did there?).

Seems mainly geared toward solo. As in, there is nothing in the game that is specifically designed to be accomplished by multiple players. Division of skills isn't even an issue, we won't be able to unlock everything in 1 go, but the game is generous with re-specs so we could still have it all.

It's very enjoyable single-player. It just gets a bit quiet after a while heh. It can actually be annoying with friends all trying to capture the same thing, wasting spheres left n right cuz you're all throwing em and if it's a server there's usually some lag with rubberbanding that can be annoying. But now that I've played with friends and on servers, I've completely abandoned my single player world cuz it feels a bit pointless that no one will ever be there or see my bases or anything. But yeah, I did sink a good 60 or so hours into single player and it is really fun. Just personal preference now for me to play on the server with my friends.
