Want more pals in your bace? Put it up in the settings. Want more/less xp, edit the settings. Want to do more/less damage or take more/less damage, edit the settings
I will say that the combat is much easier with friends, which is already quite manageable by yourself. Thankfully, there's like 25 world settings to fine-tune the experience, ranging from hunger to damage to XP to looting to day/night cycle speed.
You'll definitely do okay.
(P.S. Made it to the end-game by myself on default world settings. Except I turned the raids off, because I go AFK way too often and you can't pause the game in singleplayer.)
I've only been playing solo so far. You can adjust the level of difficulty as you like, whether you want it to be easy or difficult with the survival mechanics. In contrast to many other survival games, the base here is also busy. In other games you only build for yourself. In Palworld, however, your pals work in the base, which breathes some liveliness into the entire survival genre.
Like many other things, you can change the difficulty later in the world setting if you like it more challenging or easier.
The only important thing is that you set your own goal. Since there is currently no real story and many people simply rush through the game, which currently consists of 5 bosses, they unfortunately miss out on a lot of what makes such games so attractive.
If you expect an exciting story, complex mechanics or action at every corner, you probably won't be happy here. In my opinion, Palworld is more something to relax and enjoy. The scenic views look fantastic and if you take your time with everything you can appreciate the world accordingly.
As an example, I play in such a way that I only get 10% of the exp. In addition, I will only use flight mounts at maximum level. Even after several hours, I still enjoy exploring the world, catching new Pals and experimenting with breeding. You just have to know what brings you joy. Once you've climbed such a high mountain, you're happy when you find an egg or a box there, instead of just checking it out with a flying mount.
Play Palworld either alone or with very good friends who pursue similar goals. And take your time while playing. Palworld is too beautiful to just rush through once and then throw away.
