Upgrade other Human Settlements!: Earn reputation and title as their "HERO".
I love this game, but the way these human settlements have such little lighting and even lesser people. The NPC designs should be more varied, like older people and children seen walking/running around their homes.
If the devs allow it, we could give them a hand based on a quest to repair, upgrade, give clothing, enact trade system, make clothes for the people (new designs for our character too), make weapons, and assign them pals for the little people that come from our pal boxes if we ever feel the need to give them away (freeing up space or strengthen their defenses with their own raid problems).
Maybe add the option to save nearby humans from the wilderness, heal them and escort them back to the nearest settlement via fast travel or ride on our fast flying mount.
With every human saved, we earn reputation and go for having human NPC's be a part of our convoy while exploring the islands, or react as a defense alongside them against dangers that threaten their livelihoods. Earning the title as hero of humanity on the Palapagos Islands.
Come to think of it, I would love to add maybe 5-10 human NPC's to work for me and create a settlement of my own, based on a castle or a fortress away from the dangerous and active areas of the Syndicate/PIDF/ Brotherhood fanatics.

Just an idea. I still love this game and made an Inn just in case they ever do decide to let us have human NPC's live with us.

Dev team of 10
didn't even have someone capable of rendering at the start made a game and released early access to use the community for support and ideas (also some money) as they work toward COMPLETING THE GAME
ok that all kinda went to plan BUT it blew up!!!!!
so they suddenly had a TON of new issues they didn't expect like several hundred thousand users more servers needed etc
plus the cheating and bug fixes from launch!
they knocked it out of the park!
yet here is the community riding them like a stolen motorcycle for patches and updates constantly when most games take 7 years to complete with the average ea title about 2 years!
so
be patient and go play something else
maybe make suggestions on their discord
mechanics at this point are really "place holders" and will evolve over tome believe me!
it is WAY too early to judge this title
and this may well be something they are looking at
they need to fix other things right now ;)
have a great day

A dev team of 10 people?
Where did you get that number from?

I count a lot more than 10 people on this list of developers.

It's more than 10, yes. But the credit list is NOT an accurate representation of the dev team, unless you go through and count the actual members.

The last time I looked in to it, maybe 2 or 3 werks ago, Pocket Pair was around 40 people at the beginning of the year and since then have hired (or are hiring) another 40 or so, making them a medium to large independent developer.

I agree with OP, I would really love to see more development with NPCs, settlements, and factions. Let us do missions for FPA. Let us recruit skilled PDIF citizens into our base. Let us hire Rayne Syndicate mercenaries. So many possibilities that would enhance the gameplay and bring the world to life!

Woud love that mechanic at least if they would do it properly instead of like No Man Sky which is hollow and quite bland.

Interesting ideas here. I am really curious to see how they expand upon the current bases. I have't run into enemies with turrets or anything yet, no sort of special defenses comparable to our own.

I'm sure they're gonna do a lot more with settlements. There's even an unfinished city somewhere that looks like they're going to turn into something. I imagine there will be quests from npcs at settlements.
King of Amazons Mar 11, 2024 @ 2:39pm
What about players who wanna instead kill and enslave others? Maybe add in option to conquer human settlements (and still be able to upgrade them)?
