OP's just a troll that hates the game
I'm not in the camp the game is bound to win though. Hell Diver's 2 has already taken it's spot as most relevant game of the year right now. And who knows how people will feel about Palworld 6-8 months later. Public sentiment can change with time.
Does anyone care for GOTY titles anymore? Or any game award show. I sure don't alot of games I played should be goty but weren't even nominated.
I see occasional non-troll threads from people asking if "this game will win GOTY" or saying "this game deserves GOTY".
I take the chance to try and educate them that the Game Awards and similar programs are just a fancy commercial and the awards often go to games with the largest advertising budget. Any "award" that lets the public vote on the nominees is automatically worthless.
Remember: none of us is as dumb as all of us.
The only GOTY that really matters is your personal one. Popularity is no indication of quality.
Anyway yes Palworld is good, I don't think it's GotY material though.
But there have definitely been winners that started in EA. A little game from last year comes to mind... Bawlers Grate 3 or something like that
I'll hold all my critiques till 1.0 or some major update. Currently the game can be improved on and expanded how they go about that is how it will judge the game.
