That could be from like the before times before something bad happened that caused all of the ruined cities and technology to become ancient etc :X

The inside of the tower is connected to a pocket dimension so there is no need for an elevator. The reason they don't talk is that it is still early access. Best hypothesis when the new islands are added to the map which each island may hold a Faction Headquarters to further expand on each faction but also after fighting em in the tower a cut-scene of em making an escape since they lost that tower.
That makes sense and coincides with the other post. I'm willing to be wrong on everything except the teleport part since teleportation is explained in the game in a sense and there isn't any like way that they could be living in there lol
Thanks though I honestly just skipped the journals with the idea to read them all once I collected them all but then I never did :x I'll get around to it some day
