Sounds like you need more hot springs and better beds. It might also be tied to how hard you have them set to work with the monitoring stand.
You can also pick a pal up and throw them at a station to make them prioritize working on that station over everything else.
For the electric ones I suggest putting two of them in base. They fully charge, then eat. The other takes over, and they repeat between 99% - 100% charge.
i don't recall how i got it, probably a cage
but it just sits there and cools, if you tell it to, otherwise it will try to farm
Perishables not getting cooling from Pals because they are asleep is a ridiculous concept and easily is enough to lose a decent amount of sometimes hard to obtain items.
They need to change all items that need a cooling pet to have a "Cooling Coil" that we charge up with them, just like the electric pets.
No amount of smart Pal placement will make a Pal who cools not need sleep, which by current nature haults cooling and sets perishables back to their equivalent timer without the boost but with all the decay.
If the fridge held a Cooling Charge this all would become fixed.
also you can double up with a cooling pal and a cooler (which i think requires a cooling pal? idk)
