1 flying mount, 1 ground mount, 1 gliding pal and two more for adventuring
What I would like to see is the ability to have two Pals out at one time; would come in handy for the Tower Bosses.
Before we get more pals slot in your pocket.
But here's a secret, even in the base game 4 gobfins and frostallion isn't the "perfect" mounted damage combo. 2 attack amulets, 3 gobfins an elemental booster and frostallion is.
4 gobfins and 2 attack amulets gives you +150% attack. Frostallion gives +100% elemental, for a total of 5* damage. If you use a frostallion with vanguard, it's 5.2* damage. But if you use an elemental booster you can get +130-140% attack and +120% elemental, which is 5.06 or 5.28* damage.
With 9 support pals though, we can go a step further, 4 gobfins, 5 boosters. 2 amulets vanguard frostallion. This produces a whopping 9.3* damage when mounted. Oh and frostallion attacks also do triple damage when mounted, double when not.
Yeah, a 10 pal team definitely has balance issues due to passive interactions.
Same, and I want to use at least 2 pals at once.
But the problem with having 2 active at once is the way the command menu is setup. I think if they have one set as "partner" and the second on set as "support" (meaning they follow you but you have no direct control) then it might not require too much changes with the menu setup. Maybe.
Then you have situations like you and a tank pal waging war through a dungeon, with the bunny following you and grabbing all the loot & casting ranged attacks. Or the flower-girl keeping you both healed.
Yeah I suck at remembering names, but I think you know what I mean.
Even supposing that they do. It doesn't really matter. There's a reason why Gobfins are so good. It's because you only need 4 for any element. For any element you want to on-element, you would only have to condense ONE mount. Now you're adding another different pal for a marginal increase. While you could do it, it's not really worth the effort. With 10 pals, it may be a different story though.
Edit: That includes single player too. Boss fights become easier for each pal you can cycle in.
My brother in Christ, *YOU* are the 6th pal.
