Are all Transporter Pals horrible?
Is it me or are all levels of Transporter only carry one unit of mats?

The problem is that there isnt any ONLY transport pal, i just maxed a grass Wumpo, it has transport 5 + best passives, it can carry like 60 items at the time, but it prefers to focus on his planting 2 or Lumbering 4 traits instead of moving items.

Wumpo is only good if there are no trees around in a mining site, it´s okay for him to do the berry field and then haul, that means he is constantly doing something and usually at night everything is picked up. But if there are trees .... forget it.

Pals, much like humans, don't do what they are best at when they can pursue their dreams. For some, those dreams are a yearning for the mines or deforestation.

The biggest problem is the inhability of telling the Pal what kinds of tasks they should perform.

Helzephyr is a transport only pal if you were looking for that. Level 3, as well.

The problem with that is the flying pals are dumb as rocks and somehow manage to get stuck in or on things they shouldn't even be able to get stuck in or on.

I've watched flying pals somehow get stuck on top of pal beds and be unable to move off of them. I've seen them get up in to trees, on top of rocks, on top of buildings I've made (Even though there's no way up there.) They're wacky, flappy bois like that.

i'm still in shock at how bad those birds are at transporting. you'd expect them to be the best transporters since they should be able to fly over stuff

It's been a number of times I got some of them stuck on a lake in my first base.
I have no idea why they can't fly out of it, tho.

Try using Pals that only have skills for transportation only and no other skills available, Helzepher is a good one comparable to Wumpo who is easily gets distracted with other work on your base

For the guy saying the pals getting stuck, try allocating more free space for the pals especially large bird types or the bigger type such as Jormungtide to move around your base, happened to me already with bigger bird pals hence have to renovate my base taller and wider for them to move around.
All transporters can only carry one item at a time. The different work levels change how much an item stack they can carry. I don't know the actual numbers off the top of my head but for example, if there's one item on the ground that is a stack of 50, a lv. 3 transporter can take 30 items from that stack and move it. A lv. 4 can take 40 of that stack, and so on. Again, I don't know the real numbers, but you could look it up if you wanted to know the actual numbers,

If you have a lot of items that need to be moved, best to use a bunch of pals instead of one pal with a large transporter lv. like Wumpo. Anubis and Verdash are good transporters. Tombat and Helzephyr can work through the night, though Tombat can be distracted by other tasks.

A high transport level is only useful for things like the mining and logging camps, which can accumulate a large stack which they can take more of at once.

I personally prefer Killimari for basic transport work. They only transport and gather, so they don't get distracted. They are small and less likely to run into pathing errors. They also work at night.

killamari or hangyu are what i use

Helzephyr with at least 3-4 blocks height ceiling base will fix all of its AI pathing. actually 3 is enough but I made it 4 so that Jormuntide could also fit in my base too.

I always have 1-2 Helzephyr in all of my base to tidy things up and they're great because they work throughout the night.
