Question about Chests Respawn

I have read, maybe it was outdated. That: Chests, eggs, everything would respawn 24hrs later.

So far, only natural resources (trees, rocks, ores) are respawning like that.
The rest, not respawning at all.

Is there a new rule, or a rule which people didnt mention?
Or maybe that only applies to playing multiplayer?

I am playing single-player.

24 hours doesnt sound accurate (one ingame day). i revisited a chest i already opened and it still wasnt ready

its probably 3 days if i'm optimistic but i'm guessing here

they respawn.... it takes awhile, I just wouldn't depend on that at all. Run some caves if you want chests. Just breed for pals.

Is really not related to distance then?
I was starting to guess only things nearby your base would respawn from some tests I was doing right now.

I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't believe so. I was under the impression that everything spawns in on world initialization, but I went to a spot and 2 ores and a sulfur were missing despite never having been there before. I didn't build anything near it, and later on, when I went back, those resources had spawned in. I've seen resources pop up right in front of me at base, and have found other resources respawn that are not around bases. I don't have a definite answer for chests, but skill fruits do, and pretty sure I have seen eggs reappear. I believe it's unlikely that it's related to distance or render at all. I have tried to find some chest that was in a boss cave in that snow biome before, but I don't remember actually ever seeing it come back.

i think gold and purple chests spawn in 1 day game (is one of the settings) but red chests that give better things is 1 real life day for them to respawn

Feel like every 4 to 5 hours real life times.

Are you sure about that? I thought it was random which kind of chest spawns in a place.

It always takes me 9 game days until the chests spawn again. The chests don't seem to respawn if you're nearby at the time. In this case you only have to leave the area for a short time.

Does the setting "Gatherable object respaw interval" affect chests?

I thought eggs and chests were like an in-game week or so.

Do notice that the place where chests and eggs spawn may change.
So a place that had a chest/egg might not have one spawned the next time.
