I'm new to the whole IV training sorta deal thing
So a guide says "first aim for a flawless IV pal with no traits" ....So I am just supposed to find one in the wild, just like that, flawless? That doesn't seem right, so just asking, but for this "step" do I just breed a bunch of non-trait pals together and whenever one has improved stats, keep that one and keep moving up until it becomes flawless? cus if the alternative is to just find one in the wild, I don't think I can do that

you're supposed to breed them for flawless IV? i just took the one pal that had the best IV in attack after breeding all passive skills
theres no "iv training"

if you want to breed for perfect iv just catch alpha/shiny, you can use a mod to see them directly or calculate them like a caveman

they start with +50 iv minimum in all stats so they will be higher chance at being perfect out of box and just breed them to get a child with *mostly* similar stats, sometimes they have much lower or higher but idk the probabilities.

thats not considering traits at all however, if you want perfect traits, the easiest way is to just catch 2 alpha with 2 good traits (easier said than done) and then just breed them until you get the perfect iv and perfect trait.

That's what I want to know. The guide says "aim for flawless" like is that actually a thing without cheating?

So it really is just "find one in the wild"...damn that's harsh. So either it has to already have the desired traits and be flawless, or empty to make it easier to get the desired traits where you want them...

i usually trust random strangers on the internet but i have to tried this one out first. IV's are still a new concept in the palworld community

I got a few legit pals with 100 IV in all 3 stats. Most of them are alpha (which have at least 50 IV, never below) but some like my Katress are bred and got lucky. it's not passed down, not inherited and not mixed from the parents, I started with like 1s and 20s at the lowest and 80s in the highest and ended up with a legend-lucky-musclehead-ferocious Katress with 86 HP 100 atk and 100 def. And it all started from a lucky 2% catch rate Jetragon and a Lucky Lamball. it took me DAYS.
Only downside is my Katress is a male. the closest female I got to 100 was a 60-30-1 or so.

I use a mod, Pal Analyzer (or Pal info, forgot which I use between the two) to show me the IV of the pal I am looking at. Easier than doing maths.

I did the same for my whole degenerate team. The only one I didn't breed was Jetragon cuz I don't wanna lose the 22k HP he has lol.
my whole team, Lyleen Noct, Lunaris, Katress, and Wixen all have the same 4 traits, Legend, Musclehead, Ferocious and Lucky. My Jetragon was found with Legend, the dragon thingy, Swift and Runner. (took me 180+ in game days to get it. by the time I found it with runner and swift I already had more than enough to max it with the condenser). and let me tell you how utterly hard it is to catch them with 2% backthrow...
And then I found a similar Froststallion with Swift and Runner on my second try. I just bred them until I got enough lol.

Seriously, go get the Analyzer or Info mod, you'll need it if you was a pal with 2000+ atk before food buff.

I'm still learning all the tricks but I could still share a few tips: first of all, if want a specific pal, don't underestimate any alpha that you catch, even the ones with bad traits. For example yesterday I caught jetragon with brittle trait(bad defense), but when I checked up his stats on calculator, they were pretty decent iv attack 22%/def 20/hp 18. So let's say if I paired it up with another dragon that had bad iv's except for hp, something like 4/7/28% for example, after 100-150 eggs I would get 4-6 perfect pals(after removing bad traits of course) that inherited best stats from their parents and I would already have 22/20/28%. Second tip: no matter how many eggs they lay, the potential of parents is limited so you can't keep breeding the same pair forever, in the best case scenario the next generation will improve their stats by a few digits compared to parents, so you have to select the best ones from each batch and keep rotating them until you have the stats that you need

can you explain why my 94hp iv katress consistently births 94hp iv katresses, altho there are rare instances where its like completely different from their parents' hp iv, the other kat is 74hp iv but most of the child gets 74 or 94hp iv

also im using the iv mod to see these iv if that matters

short lil vid to prove they do inherit, these are just 5 eggs that i've hatched with those parents, and you can clearly they have some sort of inheritance of ivs.

i have many more children but since i usually sort them they are hard to find but these are just the recent 5 that was convenient to check on.

^Your info here contradicts the data miners who absolutely confirmed how the IVs are passed down. there is 40% from one parent, 40% from another, 20% mutation (or something like that, I might have the numbers a bit mixed up), but the data mined info does show that the IVs do pass down to a degree with that fluctuation that happens due to "mutation"
