I really hope the devs do something about cooling...
what is even the point? I left for half a day and 1 night, and I come back down 2 cakes. Those take a long time to make, I can't have my chillet just getting bugged out and stuck somewhere when his ONLY JOB WAS TO SIT ON THE FRIDGE. I get he doesn't do that at nights. But how the hell does he have a bed next to him, the food next to him, the fridge next to him, and somehow he still screws up cooling and I lose some items.

Just give them time. At least they are doing their job seriously.

The problem is that pals will go braindead when offline and server restarts

Pals wont work when no players actively around

Also there is no last position spawn point

Yes the fridge is BS atm.
For keeping food from expiring can leave it in the cooking station and will not lose time on it.
For cakes the timer will not go down if in the box at the breeding pen.

Cakes don't go in the fridge, they go in the breeding farm, where they enter the magical stasis that is absolute zero in the digisphere and never expire under any circumstances.

The fridge is the place you put food to reduce its expiry time for 50% of your play session while you're online. Your window into the aforementioned stasis for non-cake is your inventory while you're offline, as that which does not exist on the server cannot expire.

To my knowledge, there are no dedicated nocturnal cooling pals at present, so the fridge is at best a glorified cooler box that gets left open when everything goes to sleep.

Put the cakes in the box that comes with the Breeding Farm; they'll last forever if you do that.

There is a counter bug to the fridge that makes the food timer resets when you sort food in the fridge.
It's not the best but it's something.

It's not solely cooling though, is it? If there's even one other thing in their skillset, I find they just... don't cool anything.

also food on you when you log out dont spoil so just pick up food then log out
they should change the fridge to function like the electricity where it fills up a gauge and slowly runs down

If you pick it up and throw it at the cooler/fridge, it will prioritise that task over everything else (except for snack breaks).

Fair enough. Does that persist through logouts/going off and doing stuff elsewhere in the world? I've never really had much success getting pals to stay on a station unless I'm in the base with them rendered.

no, this seems to sometimes reset if the pal goes to sleep in the meantime. i witnessed this with my beegarde that was designated to the farm, if they go to sleep sometimes they start doing other ♥♥♥♥ after waking up

They'll keep cooling if you assign them to the cooler directly but you have to reassign them each time you start the game/server because it doesn't stick.
