Optimizing transpot pals
I want to optimize a pal for transporting in my bases, however it seems less straight forward than optimizing other abilities and I have some questions.

1. What does a higher transpoting skill even do? Can they carry multiple items at once? If so, can they only pick up multiple wood from my logging site at once or can they collect multiple scattered milk from my ranch as well?

2. How does Workspeed affect transporting (if it does)?

3. For skills, should transporting or movementspeed be prioritized?

4. What pal to use? Wumpo has lv4 Transporting, but is abysmally slow. Faleris has lvl3 Transporting and very high movement and slow walking speed, but gets stuck everywhere. Im thinking about Orserk because it has a good running speed, decent slow walk and Lv4 electicity covered as well.

Bumping this since I would like to know as well. All I can say for certain is condensing improves their ability, but not sure in what manner when it comes to transporting.

Anubis is the best one for this.
My guess is the amount least thats what i sometimes see from pal carry stuff from fields to chest/food box and if the yeld of like the berrys is always 15 than only 3 pals carry (3 berry models) to the chest so i assume they carry 5 each but its just my guess.

Why? It has less running speed, less slow walking speed and less transporting skill than Orserk.

Update with some important note - ALL transporting pals will get stuck one way or another in various situations, but some should get stuck in less types of situations (in some cases smaller pals are better, in others bigger are actually better. Generally still better to go for smaller).
--------------------------

Carry items count by transport lvl:
Lvl 1 - 2 items
Lvl 2 - 5 items
Lvl 3 - 10 items
Lvl 4 - 20 items
Lvl 5 - 40 items (only 4star Wumpo)

Item stack sizes:
Ranch - always 1 item per stack (eggs, milk, wool, etc, except maybe gold)
Farms - 20 items per stack
Stone/Logging stations - 9999 items in the "stack" (that's the building internal storage)
Natural trees and ores - 1 item per stack

Pals cannot pick up multiple stacks from the ground, meaning they'll always carry 1 item at a time for Ranch and loose Stone/Ores. Only Farms (up to transport Lvl4), Stone/Logging stations are affected by transport lvl.

Work speed doesn't affect transporting.
Move speed does affect it, however it depends on how much movement pals actually need to do,. Stone/Logging pit should basically need 0 speed, because you should have a storage box next to each of them. Farms - it depends how it's setup in your base (usually everything will be moved to Fridge, so put it in a good central location if you want less movement) The most of movement requirement will then come from Ranch and loose rocks/ore/trees, because every single one item requires a trip, pals can't carry more than 1 item stack at a time.

What this means
For Ranch, transport level doesn't matter. For farms - you'll want either lvl 3 or 4.
Even though with lvl 4 it's only 1 trip vs 2 trips with Lvl 3, only Wumpo has lvl 4 and his speed is 3x less than the bird transporters, so it's a net negative. However Wumpo works if you have storage boxes very near the farms, because the walk speed becomes almost irrelevant and also Wumpo can reach further when picking stuff up, so even less walking for him. Otherwise stick with Lvl 3 transporters.

Wumpos in general work well only for Stone pit, and only when there's no lumbering/cooling/farms in that base. Even then, in the end they're not better than Nocturnal birds.

Now the best transporters in general - the nocturnal birds
(with movement speeds during transporting in parenthesis, for reference wolf mounted sprint speed is 1050)
Helzephyr (450), Vanwyrm Cyst (475) and Vanwyrm (475).
All can carry 10 items, so only 2 trips per farm, also very fast, so good at picking up single items from Ranch. Also, they don't need to sleep, so even for Stone Pit/Lumbering site, they can continue transporting during the night, closing the gap between them and Wumpo for Stone Pit / Lumber Site (poor Wumpo)

Vanwyrm Cyst is good only if you don't have a fridge in that base, because you don't want them to start cooling the fridge instead of your dedicated cooler pal (which so happens is that Vanwyrm Cyst is probably the best here, because he's the only nocturnal cooler pal, so he never has to leave the fridge, just to eat, and the only time food really goes bad is when it's not actively cooled, which happens during the night with other cooler pals. This won't be a problem if all your Vanwyrms have same work speed, but most likely the Cooler one will have work speed passives while transporter's won't, so you don't want transporters to take away cooling job from your "Cool" Vanwyrm :D)

The basic Vanwyrm is good only if you don't have anything requiring fire/kindling - because he'll prioritize that with his bad Lvl 1 kindling, preventing your dedicated fire pals from doing their job.

Now Helzephyr is technically perfect, Lvl 3 transport (condensing to 4star would have him Lvl 4 transport, making it so it's 1 trip per farm), doesn't need to sleep, and doesn't get distracted by any other tasks. The ONLY negative about him might be his hitbox/size. But that's only if he gets stuck more than Vanwyrms, which I haven't tested. If Vanwyrms do get stuck less, then use them where their other tasks don't interfere - everywhere else use Helzephyr. If they get stuck the same amount, then just might as well use Helzephyr all the way :D

So most likely those 3 birbs should be able to handle all your transporting needs.

Now besides those, there are other few good ones for transport (that have Lvl 3 transport):
Faleris (500) - should be just a better version of Ragnahawk (read below). The only differentiating factor will be who get's stuck more.
Ragnahawk (375, less than nocturnal birds) - you can use him both for kindling and for transporting when he's done his kindling job. Get's stuck waaaaay less than Jormuntide Ignis, the only Kindling 4 pal. So Ragnahawk is good for versatility - also his size is much smaller than he looks visually, so should get stuck the least (but WILL still get stuck).
Beakon (375) - good when you don't yet have Eletric 3 pals, so one can power the base while others would transport - but ONLY if you don't have farms in that specific base.
Orserk (250) - I think he doesn't get stuck that much, plus has handiwork for whenever you build/craft something (but becomes less useful if you have many Anubis/Lyleens in base for Handiwork)
Goriat (250) - only if there's no lumbering in that base

Out of those with Lvl 2, good ones:
Anubis (480) - fast, has best handiwork, and his mining doesn't really interfere since most of the time they'll be your miners as well - so just spam more of Anubis so some are left over from the mining job and they'll transport. Doesn't work as transporter if you want only a few miners in a mining base and the rest to do other stuff and transport, since they'll just be mining and nothing else.
Katress (292) - nocturnal, also only other jobs are Handiwork and Medicine, so never interferes with other work and Handiwork is helpful for build/craft.
Lovander (460) - nocturnal, pretty much better than Katress, but only if there's no mining in that base (she has lvl 1 mining)
Tombat (270) - nocturnal, but inferior to Katress. Doesn't have Handiwork nor Medicine, instead has Lvl 2 Gathering and Mining, which might just interfere with other work. HOWEVER, they're very good to spam in your first Ore mining bases, because they can both Mine and then Transport once done mining AND without sleep by themselves, so no need for other dedicated transporters. Straight up replaced by Anubis once you have those, they're just better even without being nocturnal.

Btw Wumpo speed is 150, but he's still not the slowest, that title goes to Depresso with only 100 (and only Lvl 1 transport) :D

Wow that was really in depth, ty a lot!
I tried Tobats, Vanavyrm, Helzephyr and Faleris and all have been stuck a lot, so I dont want flyers.
Where did you get the transport speeds from? I couldnt find it in your link.
I used this data when looking for a suitable transport pal and assumed the Slow walk speed was the one used for transporting.
https://paldex.io/palworld/pal-ranking/
Anubis would have only 80 according to this, while Orserk was 100.

I will probably go with a mix of Anubis and Orserk, depending on the base,

You can find the transport speeds in this doc, specifically the "Pal Stats" tab.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YgPc11dgdBUC8jXNp01b7gI6jNHoBRQGwrY_V6lXMgQ/edit#gid=669512283
Those speeds are always between walking and running speed, but not exactly in the middle, for some Pals it's much closer to the running speed while for others it's closer to their walking speed.

Regarding being stuck, even walking Pals get stuck in certain cases. Sometimes something happens to a particular drop, causing none of the Pals being able to pick it up, so they just all gather around that item and stand there doing nothing, which causes them to teleport to Palbox (which is a feature to prevent them being stuck I guess), but then they run to the same item and get stuck again.

Even Katress, that is a walking Pal, was getting stuck in a few situations. Though I think the fliers did have a tendency to get stuck within some foundations (especially those under the "hot bath" building), and on top of some taller buildings (Statue of power, fountain, Silo). The solution was to simply find those situations, and either move the buildings elsewhere, or to build some additional stairs so they could freely move down from higher buildings/platforms.

Besides that bug where item cannot be picked up, I was able to mostly do corrections to base so that fliers weren't getting stuck more than walkers (at least nothing significantly noticeable). The fliers apparently do have advantages is some pathing situations I found, where they have easier job moving around than walkers.

Either way, no matter which transporters you'll use, the 1st priority is for them to not get distracted by other jobs, as that messes with their transport logic as well (and also not to interfere with others especially when transporters usually has very low lvl in those other jobs) and then for them to never get stuck - even a slower walking Transport Lvl2 is fine as long as they actually transport instead of sleeping inside a wall :D

Mostly just keep in mind that which Pal will work out best may vary based on your specific base setup. So it's a bit of a trial and error at this point. Sometimes it's better to swap a Pal, other times it's better to change the placement of buildings, depending which is less annoying and less time consuming at that point in time :D I wish the pathing and getting issues would get fixed, so that Pals with better stats would actually always work better.
