Palworld's only similarity is the monster catching part and is mostly a survival/base-building game, which still needs a lot of work but if they pull it off... it'll be one of my top favorite ones. There's several superior base-building and npc management games out there that I hope Palworld will steal mechanics from because they're that good as QoL.
it was a good game but some of the skills were massivly unbalanced
Counter-Strike: you shoot the enemies, Palworld: you shoot the enemies.
Counter-Strike: you throw a grenade to the enemies, Palworld: you throw a grenade to the enemies.
Counter-Strike: you grind your rank, Palworld: you grind your level.
Counter-Strike: you have a helmet, Palworld: you have a helmet.
Damn, I think Palworld is similar to Counter-Strike.
Pokémons:
Old but gold: Like yum yum berries from childhood. Simple fun, catch tiny monsters, be happy.
For everyone: Like big family dinner, all can join, no too scary stuff.
Big world: Lotsa places, lotsa tiny monsters, never bored.
Palworlds:
New stuff: Not just catch, but make tiny monsters work, fight big. Like Pokémons but with more growl.
Tough and dark: More serious, not just play, but also work. Like when you gotta do chores.
Looks pretty: Shiny, looks real, harder play.
Which better? Hmm, if like old fun, go Pokémons. If want try something hard and shiny, Palworlds maybe. Me? Me like both. Both good munch munch.
Palworld wins by default.
Me? I'd have to say I generally prefer Pokemon, because I enjoy turn based game play more than real time, love RPGs, and find the more casual nature of the games relaxing. Does that make Pokemon better? Only if you like turn based RPGs and don't care about base building.
I like base building, so Palworld scratches a different itch. When I get bored with that, I'll go on to something else.
The only thing they have in common is creature catching. Everything else is totally different, so you can't really compare the two fairly.
