what the best farming pals?

criteria :
need to be small so it doesnt get stuck due to stupid path finding
can focus on task without me having to bang his head into the work place
and need pretty strong move so it can defend the base while im at work or asleep
positions required : logistics , irrigation , planter

purpose : farming for wheat to bake cakes

lyleen is a great choice for planting and crafting combo (lvl 4 planting, lvl 3 crafting, 2 harvest), they will tend to focus heavily on planting and crafting.

azurobe is a good waterer and will focus only on that(its on the larger size though, but not terribly big).

penking also works as a smaller watering guy, as he will prioritise watering over other tasks.

early game celeray will water and transport so it can help with carrying stuff around the base early on.

dinossom isnt too large and is also a good early planter/logger as well.

im at level 45 now so you can open up even more options

Kelpsea for water, Kelpsea Ignis or foxsparks for flame, fuddlers for mining stone, gorirat/tanzee (i think) for wood, a jolthog or sparkit for electric, but all of these get distracted by other tasks. I find myself using the eikthyr and boar for stone/wood most often, and still use the kelpseas and jolthog... and then like lfimunks for planting. flopie for meds....

They really all get stuck from time to time. I've only had good luck by making sure everything they need to do is nearby and a straight shot from a to b. Later on, you'll want to use the higher pets because of skill. I had a giant jormun ignus that kindles at 4 skill and he's wicked fast but he's huge so he gets stuck a lot. So I just put him in my pal group and use him only when I want to speed up the progress. I have a set for in the base pets and adventure pets and couple dungeon-only ones who level the others.

I also like tombats (if you can find artisan or serious) and penkings, and dumuds for higher level mining. I also like Loupmoon for handicraft 3 skill. very quick and work through the night. Also like inceram but they're all on the border of being too large though if a dinossom is too large. I hope one day that they add in the ability to shrink the pals by percentages rather than use a mod... but there are mods out there too.

I'm only like 35, so I haven't seen much yet. Still exploring, but those have been my go tos until I find better.

You don't need very skillful Pals to farm more food than you'll ever eat.

its either azurobe or you'll have to upkeep a very hungry penking for little payout.

verdash is also good as he only has 3 bread for upkeep.

With just 2-3 berry fields you can feed just about anything forever. The hunger upkeep cost is a bit of a joke for how efficient farming is.

This is not to say berries alone are a good idea for food- but you can keep those bellies full indefinitely until you make better food.

tbh the question is rather silly... Especially since you say you want them to be smol. Just use whatever you like. They are all relatively good its just a matter of how fast do you want stuff done. Food wise you dont even really need anything special just a ton of cooked berries will do you just fine.

i want them smol cause pathing issues dear god azurobe just cant get stuck for at least 5 min
and i want to farm alot of wheat cause i need them to bake massive amount of cake

My second base is literally just a spawn of ore and a few trees. Pet beds around a small building that has two berry plantations and two wheat and a fire. All penkings, dumbuds, tombat, and a foxsparks and a teafant and I could probably feed all 3 bases with that alone. I have other food mind you... but in a pinch berries work well for any pal.

Oh. Well:

Flour – x5 - you need to grow wheat
Red Berries – x8 - you need to grow berries
Milk – x7 - You need a cow at the ranch
Eggs – x8 - You need a chicken at the ranch
Honey – x2 - You need a bee at the ranch

So 1 Chikipi, 1 Mozzarina, 1 Beegarde, and the appropriate farming dudes, which can be just about anything.
