Fighting Victor and Shadowbeak
For those who don't know: If you were to ride a Pal with a type advantage against Shadowbeak (a Dark type), your shots deal tremendously more damage.

If I were to ride my Azurobe (a Water and Dragon type), would my shots deal more damage against both Dark types and Fire types (and shots with my Azurobe are confirmed to deal a lot more damage against Fire types)? Or would it only apply to Fire types?

that only works with specific pals with an ability to add type to your attacks while riding them

are you mistaking head shot as type advantage dmg? cuz azurobe is add water damage and shadowbeak is dark?

Okay, but it worked on Marcus and Faleris. On the other hand, does it only add one of the types to the shots?

Dragon type is effective against shadowbeak...not dark, which is shadowbeaks typing.

I beat him yesterday using a team of dragons with dragon moves-gives a "very effective" message every time a type advantage moves is used

Mounts (and other Pals) that add damage to your attacks or change your attack type will specifically call out what type the damage is in their Pal ability description. That's the only type of damage that will get applied.

the ability only adds one type im not sure why you think azurobe's buff is good on shadowbeak thou

Did you need to be mounted on any of them? Which weapons did you use? Did you need any weapons that are stronger than their Common tiers? How many of your Dragon-type Pals were Jetragon?

I did for relaxasaurs lux with the cannon, but the damage wasn't worth it...I went in with a 2 rank condensed jourmentide (sp) that was more tanky than I thought with musclehead trait

All dragons I used were bread for traits, condensed to rank 2, given souls to statue for increased stats, and my entire team (myself included) ate omelettes for attack buff

I had a legendary shotgun which did most of the damage though, increasing the pals stats made them able to tank 1-2 of victors nasty hits

I figured something that can REALLY help me beat Victor: A Quivern. If I mount one, my attacks gain the Dragon element to it.

I just need to do that and level/power it up a bunch (and probably get a Legendary Assault Rifle, too), and I'll be all set to fight Victor.

I ain't readin all these replies but if your goal is to beat the pal eugenics guy who uses a shadowbeak, ride a chillet, i clowned on him riding a chillet because chillet turns your attack into dragon and buffs it.

I beat him for the first time just now using 3 Jetragon, 1 Lyleen, 1 Galeclaw that ended up doing literally nothing, stock rocket launcher, and legendary assault rifle. Make sure you sub out Jetragon's fire ability because all of its 3 default moves have long cooldowns and they will waste time flying into the boss and blocking your shots while all 3 are recharging. Stock launcher was not doing enough damage to beat the timer, but legendary assault rifle picked up the slack and caught me up after I switched to it.

I'm pretty sure that purple, maybe even blue, is good enough as long as it's the only weapon you use.

I went in with all Alphas; Jet, Rudolphsty, Pal-lidin, Pal-cromancer, and Depresso. Jet does type damage because the message appears. But because my Pals where Alphas with good traits and HUGE HP pool, this fight was relatively easy, just running and dodging. Although I did get caught a few too many times with his Kamehame HA! I think he turns faster than other Pals while using Kamehame Ha, I had to spring roll later on to dodge it. All my other Pals also did type damage because I gave them Dragon skill fruits. So yes, if you have a dragon mount type and dragon skills, you will do type extra damage.

Okay, so I didn't beat Victor, but at least I was able to use a glitch to catch both him and his Shadowbeak, and that's good enough for me. :D
