Tower Boss XP Loss

So re-doing tower bosses I discovered that you lose XP if you complete a tower you have already done.
My XP was at 85442 when i entered the tower and after the fight my XP dropped to 63852. My pals got XP but my character lost it. 😦

Why would you ever fight them more than once? You don't get anything.

I was testing the results of all the breeding I've been doing since I only ever fought them in a group. Someone already pointed out to me that the number change I am seeing is correct and that it is a count down to the next level. I misunderstood how the XP mechanic works.

that's not how the game dose exp it shows you how much you need then it goes down - not up- until you get to 0 and then you level up

lets say you need 500 exp - you kill something it give 100exp your exp will now say 400 so so
