Corrupted Level.sav - No Backup
My PC just crashed with my dedicated server running. The Level.sav data is corrupted and i have no recent backup file, because the backups stopped on the day that i created the server...
I doubt i will ever get my and my friends 60 hour progress back. But for the future; How can i ensure, that Palworld will create Up to date backup files?

I am mourning the loss of everything right now... Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance!

It depends on what leads to the save corruption.

If it's the guild leaving bug, this might be of some help: https://gbatemp.net/threads/palworld-dedicated-server-save-corruption-fix.646958/

If it's over 7000 pals bug(which has been patched recently), try this: https://github.com/HyperBCS/palworld-save-tools
If none of these works, I mean at least you still have all your player data save. You are not technically lose "everything".

As for the backup, there are several utilities you can try on Nexusmod site:
https://www.nexusmods.com/palworld/mods/535
https://www.nexusmods.com/palworld/mods/363
https://www.nexusmods.com/palworld/mods/512
They help auto-backup your sever data.

Hey, thanks for your suggestions! But unfortunately it was neither of those bugs. It jsut happened, when my PC crashed. When we wanted to log back in to the server, you had to create a complete new character and couldn't play as before. It was like a new world had been created. The server also created a new Folder for the player and world data.
I looked into the "Level.sav" data with notepad++ and it only showed "NULL" all over the file. But it looked completely different than before, that is why i think it is corrupted. All other .sav files look fine...

null means the file is encrypted. its obfuscation

Also if you're running a server you should be making backups, either manually or with a script.Never assume the server will back itself up

.sav files need to be converted to .json before you can read it through notepad++, you can try using the palworld-save-tool to do the conversion.

I tried this and got an error: Exception: not a compressed Palworld save, found too many null bytes, this is likely corrupted

Seems like it IS corrupted after all...

Thanks! But unfortunately this didn't work, because i have no backup files in the "world" folder from my old save..
When i try to copy files from my latest files, then i always have the map and paldeck uncovered as it was, but no pals, levels, technology, bases etc..

It's that damn Level.sav from where i have not a single backup...

Ask Void there (or in Discord) if there is any solution for you.

Same here :(
Our Dedicated Server just had this same issue. Trying to find additional potential intel for Our Host but you guys have no luck either huh?

I mourn for your 60 Hours of Gameplay.
We were I think at over 3 Weeks... Was Breeding Worker Traits [Artisan | Work Slave | Serious | Lucky], Mount Traits [Nimble | Swift | Runner | Motivational Leader], and even ATK Traits [Musclehead | Ferocious | Lucky | Hooligan]... All Gone...

Just found this but since I'm not the Host, I don't know if it'll do much since I can't try this out myself:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/palworld-dedicated-server-save-corruption-fix.646958/

If you guys try, let me know. Anticipating for some kind of Result.
Thanks and much Appreciated.

Edit:
Unless... there's literally No Save whatsoever...?
Can't copy a World Save if there's no World Save TO Copy and attempt to fix, right? Is that the issue for you guys, too?
