Stack-able foundations and pillars.

Having stack-able foundations, pillars, as well as being able to snap foundations to other already existing structures like stairs, roofing, ceilings, and walls would possibly improve the building experience.
At the moment, the building mechanics in this game feel kind limiting, and building on any area that isn't flat proves to be challenging. There are work-arounds of course, but they are not ideal. I know this game is in early access currently, so hopefully improvements will be made regarding building, and players will have more creative freedom when making their bases in the future.

If anyone has more ideas that could improve the building mechanics, feel free to share.

I totally agree. While work-arounds will always be a thing there is a lot that can be improved with the building system. Here are some of my ideas:

1) Triangle roof and foundation pieces so players can build more creatively shaped buildings.

2) Rails for stairs and balconies would be most welcome. And it would be even better if those rails can stack so we can build fencing and cages with it.

3) Small bridges made from wood and rope to build for example a pirate inspired or complex base.

4) Glass and by extention glass walls and roofs
