that way you still have a good chance of not getting it, but the grind isnt insane.
Exactly. The multiplier just means you get 3x of the drop. So if lucky enough for a legendary drop from its already fixed chance, you'll just get x3 of it. I've tested this and gotten 3x of the legendary heat and cold palmetal armors on drops each time from kills that were done.
Only method of increasing chances for a drop from bosses out side of respawns as discussed is that you get 1 chance of the drops if you tame them, then after taming them you can use the butcher cleaver to get a second drop chance. However given you're going to expend palballs to tame, with only just one more chance, whether its worth it to use that vs just waiting out respawn timing depends on the player.
It doesnt apply to legendary drop chances and what they're referring to is for increases to the actual number of drops like the world resource multiplier.
