Your inventory doesn't spawn if you die flying over lava

good to know. though I have to question the wisdom of leaving on the inventory drop feature on such an early access game. I fell through my base once and thanked my lucky stars that I'd turned that off

I've read that that can be a problem. I haven't risked it yet myself.

Non-fire flying mounts will cause you to be set ablaze and burn instantly if you fly over lava even if you have heat resistance. And the damage is very fast.

I dropped my gear in lava and thought it was gone because there was no red X on the map. I went over there to look around anyway and it was there. Might want to go take a look just in case.

honestly had no idea about the mount affecting flying over lava, couldnt figure out for the life of me why i was fine scouring the entire volcano for eggs on my solo world but was getting roasted alive on a multiplayer server despite having way more heat resist from gear and accessories. Turns out Vanwyrm for my solo was my savior.

I think that whole Mt Obsidian area is bugged for death bag drops. I just died there again, but this time I was collecting eggs and slipped off a mountain peak. Slid all the way down and slammed into a rock. I wasn't anywhere near the lava, but it still didn't show any red X on the map and I had to go and search until I found it.

Lava in general is buggy af, so i tend to try to avoid it.
