For your sanity I would turn off egg incubation time so you don't have to wait so long to get disappointed.
That's not very intuitive. Wasted so much time trying to get 1, then 2, then 3 and was stuck on the fourth.

Too late for that. :)
But I have lowered the time and I will lower it even more when I get to bigger eggs. Also decreased breeding time using a mod.
0.0 does work for MOST people using it but some people have had issues with egg timers freezing completely, glitching out to absurd timers, or just not hatching at all.
There is a mod for toggling hold vs press for F interaction.
Ah, fair, I guess avoid it for now then till a stable version comes out. I'm fine with the incredibly short time of holding F on each egg. At least it's short for me, I imagine the multiple crafting necklaces I'm wearing are helping probably.
Edit: not all changing settings does this and will see the issue. But it CAN happen when you change settings for the world and not restart the game. If you have this issue, fully close the game and re-open and the issue should be fixed.
Ark required stacking mutations for perfect stats up to 254 (255 was technically cap but going to 255 caused a server error so people stopped at 254), on top of color mutations, usually taking THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of breeding sessions to get a perfect dino.
Pokemon's IV and Personality Trait system even with items to guarantee a specific passdown rate still required breeding well over 500 times to get perfect IV's + personality trait and if you were going for a perfect Shiny it'd be thousands upon thousands of breeds.
Meanwhile in Palworld you can realistically get a perfect Pal from around 200-300 breeding attempts.
In the grand scheme of things this is insanely easy already and if it got dumbed down any further probably wouldn't even be a fun mechanic anymore for number crunchers like me who would knock it out in a day and be twiddling our thumbs.
