Ranch drop and work speed passive traits
Hello,

Could someone please tell me if the ranch production speed is affected by work speed related trait (for milk/egg/honey production)
Any way to increase that production speed ?

Thank you,

it's not. its been confirmed in multible reddit posts. passives have no affect on farming. Only thing that does is the level of their ability.
I've heard ranch production is not effected by work speed. Now, I haven't tested that myself, but do what you will with the knowledge that is a possibility. The only surefire way to increase production speed that I know of is to upgrade the pal via the condenser.
I haven't tested it, but I believe the rank of the skill is supposed to affect the speed and amount they produce. So condensing 116 of their comrades in to them should in theory help.

for a farming pal, your best bet is to focus on food consumption/san depletion passives.
Work speed doesn't increase the rate of ranch drops (because there's no "work" being done), so you are better off piling traits that slow their Sat and San drains.

If you condense ranch pals, they get a chance to drop extra items each time they generate. (ie, a rank 2 Chikipi will have a chance to lay a second egg every time it poops one out, and a rank 5 Chikipi will have a chance to lay 1-4 extra eggs)

Work speed seems to have very minor effects. Work speed speeds up some animations there, like egg laying and wool shedding, but overall timers are fixed it seems.
From what I've read, the effect is very, very minor.
Condensation does affect the amount, and in case of Vixy, the quality of produce - that is probably because ranching is also technically pal's special skill.

So basically - work speed passive traits hardly matter - so basically, sanity and food consumption are the only ones to care about, so you reduce the frequency of their downtime.

Similarly - work speed doesn't matter for natrural spawnable ore nodes and wood (only rank on specific proficiency does, it affects damage to the nodes/trees), transporting (movement speed does matter).

Work speed affects:
kindling jobs, like cooking and working on furnace, watering, planting, gathering/harvesting, mining at stone pit, logging at logging camp, meds production, working at various workbenches.
With cooling it seems to affect how quiickly things spoil, and for electrical job, it speeds up charging speed, but palls will still sit and charge even at 100%, so it hardly matters, unless there is a lot of work to be done and you risk outpacing the charging process.

I've read at least one person on here that says they tested the ore nodes mining with/without work speed and they said work speed definitely increases the speed at which the ore is completely mined. I think they mentioned testing attack buffs too but I can't remember completely.

I can test the cooling thing since I have artisan/non artisan pals of the same type and work suitability. Higher work suitability definitely does increase spoil time though.

Hunger and sanity drain are pretty non-existent during ranching tasks as well. So I don't even know if those traits really matter either. It's mostly just the condensing that people should do. And it's probably only worth condensing once or twice while the costs are low.

Work speed passives definitely increase food spoilage time. Just tried it with 2 Chillets. One with Artisan the other without.
