Any way to keep bases loaded while away?
Playing a single player world, and my pals just aren't working while I'm gone. Before someone says something stupid like "mAkE sUrE u GoT tHe RiGhT sKiLlS" or something, they absolutely do. I've got 5 level 3 miners and not a single boulder is mined when I leave. My two dedicated frosters should be able to have near 100% uptime on my fridge, but yet I come home and all my food is spoiled. No matter how many handiwork guys I've got, not a single palball will be made while I'm gone. Farming also comes to a halt, as I've noticed a massive drop in food in my feed box.

Again, to further the fact that it isn't my base setup or a lack of skilled pals, if I sit around my base for 5 minutes everything gets cleaned up and done. All debris is cleared, my fridge is properly chilled, and all my assembly lines get worked on. To prevent starvation, I usually have to chill around my base for about 30 minutes for every hour I adventure to break even on food consumption to replace what wasn't produced while gone.

This is also for all three bases BTW, which makes the process even worse.

I'm guessing for some optimization thing or something that the bases aren't loaded while players are far, but I'm in single player, I don't care about optimization. Just let my factory continue while I'm away!

All building should not stick together, make it wide open, the walking path should fit a largest pal, less ranch ( so anubis will not keep grabbing stuff), the floor should be flat like you mom tit

so far the only thing my pals havent been doing while im away is transporting.

i usually come back to ingots having been smelted, crafters having been worked, and rocks having been destroyed. but the rocks have basically just become piles of loose ore that hasnt been stashed in a chest yet.

never used a fridge, so not sure about that whole mechanic.

Err.. what miners are you using? I have a digtoise and an anubis at my iron base and they're always mining when the spawns are up - it's the damned hangyu's that are 4 star with artisan, workaholic, swift and serious that aren't doing anything lately, lol.

I have noticed that some of the pals will get stuck in thought if there's something on the ground. Even things they should be picking up, sometimes they just brainfart and stand at it doing nothing all the way until they're hungry.

I guess I'm asking what miners more of curiosity. I know I've read that the issue you're having happens in multiplayer games, but it hasn't happened to my brother and I while we've been playing on his and I've never seen it happen on mine - I have noticed that they tend to eat less when I'm away than when I'm standing around being a weird dictator.

And what Zed said. I've had that happen a lot and I'm beginning to wonder if my Hangyu's just suck, lol.

If you gathering food other than berries and want Pal to put them in cooler, fill all the slots in Feedbox with all the berry you have so they have no choice but to transport it into cooler. Can put Honey in the feedbox too as they don't spoil.

I notice this actually happens recently, before the past few patches I always come back to base with more than a hundred ores in chests, now it's probably only 20 something ores

Not aware of a chunk loading system for single player. If you are hosting a server there are a few options you can use to keep specific chunks loaded ranging from mods, or coding you can use.

If your frost pals have other base traits (gathering, planting, etc) they might be doing those instead of frosting.

berries are perishable..
better is use cotton candy, because you dont use it for cake or salad

edit: aka in first slot berries and then candy in others..
because Pals are eating from the most left slot what have something to eat..

I've only been using one bee and it's got me absolutely overflowing with honey, two chicks cannot keep their egg production up enough for my cake production to outpace that singular bee. I don't know if that bee is just obnoxiously good at honey collecting or the disparity in cake recipe ingredients between the two is just that much of an offset.

Honey, like cotton candy, never spoils, both are good though.

I sit corrected. There is a mod chunkloader for single player, sort of.

Its funny how people think the pals actually are working when you are far away, sure if you are away for 10 minutes, no problem, but if you have two bases and are away from one for an hour, your pals will be in stasis, they wont even eat food, time will go, but no work will be done. This is also why when you jump on a server after noone having been on for a while, all your pals will be hungry and different kinds of sick ...

You can also force them to eat with another mod, made by the same guy, only if the host adds it to the server. https://www.nexusmods.com/palworld/mods/313
