So I was wondering, is it possible to try and get the schematics from breeding and butchering the legendary pals you hatch? I know there is a chance from catch/kill and the butcher. Was curious if breeding can also count for the drop.

Boss pals have a unique red icon. You can't get that from breeding.

Take the easiest one: Chillet. You can catch the boss type Chillet pretty early.
Catch 2 and breed them. That gives you a normal Chillet, not a boss Chillet.

Only the boss variation of the Pal gives the legendary schematics.

"Alphas" refer to boss variants and the sparkling lucky variants. Currently, no breeding formula will give you that.

You can capture alpha pals and then butcher them for an extra chance at a schematic drop

You can breed an alpha but its offspring won't get the alpha mark.

Its just you can breed Jetragon with another to have a 100% the egg hatch be a Jetragon. So I was just wondering if that was also equal to the offspring being part of "butcher with a chance of drop"

The world boss (or just boss.) status doesn't get passed down with breeding. TRAITS might, (like lucky.) but they wouldn't be bosses. You need to hunt them down in their natural habit to get the schemata. But you can double your odds by catching and using the butcher knife. Also gives all the other resources from them too.

Idk if it happened in a patch or it was always the case but alpha pals can be bred. The chances are low (anywhere from 5-10% in my testing), but it's possible. Whether or not they drop the schematics or not im not sure but they do drop ancient civ parts if you butcher them.

Yes, you can breed alphas. Yes, the kids can be alphas. Yes, you can factory breed them and butcher for rolls on the loot table for the legendary schematics. I've done it.

For once, a necro'ed threat that's not totally out of date and useless. It's not going over information every current player already knows.

And yes, ever since the update before Sakurjima, when they added Alpha pals to eggs, they added the ability to get rare drop chances from butchering your alpha pals. Doesn't matter if caught them or hatched them.
