For everything else, especially low levels, not so much. You stop getting XP after flagging 10 and most are worthless unless you plan to actually breed good traits in and use them. I'd only use breeding for workers you plan to use and your combat party.
The best XP at endgame is repeatedly farming high level bosses. Killing 1 boss can make a newly bred pal jump massively. On double rate server, killing a volcano boss gets them from 1 to 36 in a single kill. The XP curve gets massively punishing in the 30s though. The flying desert boss gets them from 1 to 33, the 2nd boss from 33 to 37 or something similar.
Best guide I've found for the game is this one:
https://game8.co/games/Palworld
It describes the fastest way to get XP early game, which is by crafting arrows. Has lots of other tips too.
Early game you can farm chillett/penking for the legendary cloth/feathered pin helmet legendary patterns.
Later game in the 43-50 range you can farm frostallion/blaze/paladius/necromis/jetragons for the legendary schematics they drop. Might want to save Jetragon for the 48+ range though.
The exp they give is just absurd too. Could be faster then taming even.
