Palworld on windows 11 pro using DirectX 11 instead of DX12?
It seems Palworld only uses DirectX 11 on windows 11 pro on my 3060ti / 5800x3d setup even though DirectX 12 ultimate is available and enabled... I've noticed several youtubers with rivatuner overlays using DirectX 12 on windows 11? Am I missing a configuration setting somewhere?

DirectX 11 on windows 11 pro is already ok because this game not been fully optimize 1080p and 4k not much difference right now i saw ...60fps and 200fps there nothing difference either i see but when this game is fully optimize that what make DirectX 12 difference i think 4k will be much awesome then 1080p and 200fps is way better then 60fps

You just edit the engine.InI if you want 12, you can also force a bunch of RTX options on also the main menu doesn’t have.

Additionally if you want an optimized ini for all that, just go to nexus and search RTX under Palworld, someone made an easy drag n drop ini for RTX and dx12, although I’d stay away from his epic versions on a 3060, I won’t even use that one on my 4090 lol

Thanks.. but I'm not asking for ini changes.. I'm just wondering why Palworld is doing DX11 instead of what it should do DX12.

Unreal 5 games should be using DX12... there are good reasons for doing DX12 over DX11... optimized or not...

One of the main differences is that DX12 is a low level API compared to DX11 and has a lot of performance benefits.

So either this is a bug or intended for whatever vague reason.

DX12 isn't a magic "go faster" switch. Without careful optimization, the end result tends to be slower than DX11 due to the fact that DX12 shifts more of the work from the driver to the game. Microsoft invented DirectX, but Flight Simulator is still slower in DX11 for most people after years of optimization work. UE5 has already done part of the work for Palworld, but there's not a lot of reason to turn on DX12 if they haven't done extensive testing and optimization of it in Palworld yet.

Duh... Yes I know it isn't a magical switch. But for the 40+ years I've been deep diving into the world of computers and trying to just optimize things on my end, it is a factor that matters..

I realize palworld is early access and not optimized (at all) ...

We'll see how palworld fares in 6 months...

This is something you want to ask devs not the community

"Am I missing a configuration setting somewhere?"
The answer to that "is" the ini right now.

I found my game stutters using dx12 when moving/turning the camera, even after a few minutes of being loaded into the game and staying innthe same area. I hardly get that issue with dx11 if at all, so I went back to it.

That might be something where I'd have to fiddle with settings and/or it's my hardware, but I dunno. Frankly didn't notice much of a difference otherwise, but I was curious how it would do.

For me DX12 runs much better. I need to upscale either way with Lossless Scaling, but DX12 runs smoother when upscaling from 1080p to 1440p than DX11 does when upscaling from 900p. The reason they chose DX11 is simply for compatibility, I'd say
