you're not the only one, every community server that uses G portal or other servers that hasn't updated on their end yet can't play, I can't play either right now unless i go to another server you know. I know Nitrado servers and majority of other providers are updated and back up.
Give it few hours they should be updated by then 2am for me here i'ma hop when I wake up should be back up by then
SteamCMD is not "yet" updated with the latest server patch, which is crazy considering the steam dedicated server launcher "is" updated. (This crap always happens with EA games if they have dedicated servers)
You'll have to pull the updated server files off of steam itself, "not" steamcmd (Ironic I know), and copy paste those files to your server if local, or FTP upload the updated server files to whoever is hosting for you, if they even give you FTP access. (And, assuming they don't also lock some of the folders on you, some services be pricks like that)
Either that or just wait a few hours and steamcmd should actually have the update.
100% they did not update the server, only rebooted it and trusted steamcmd updated it (Which, it did not) He'll need to update the server manually via FTP after getting the files himself locally. Or again, just chill a few hours and steamcmd will actually start updating ppl.
Np lol. Well hopefully one day he is willing to learn (It's not really as hard as it sounds)
Because this will probably be an issue for as long as this game is in EA, after every single update, so knowing how to ftp update a server will be invaluable info for him.
Idk if you've tried it, I thought i'd leave it as a mention in case it helps.
Try going to your library, right click Palworld, navigate to Updates, disable automatic updates for the game, then re-enable it, hopefully that forces it to update.
