Also every pal is just as viable as the last, at the same level rather than "its just 3 stage evolution and trade evos that are actually worth running outside of specific strategies" like pokemon does.
That said, one thing i could see happen more would be say breed exclusives or they could implement a fusion machine of sorts to mash traits from multiple pals. That would probably be the next best thing
The game was planet to have fusions but like digimon fusing 2 pals to make an egg but they changed to breeding. Also you can see the fusion idea from one of the boss towers and his creation the Shadowbeak. I think this is why we have pal variantion B that changes not only the pallet color but also their type.
