has anyone gotten a legendary schematic from butchering legendary pals after hatched from eggs? a couple websites claim you can.

Nope. I have only gotten legendary schematics from butchering ones with the red skull alpha/boss tag.

I'm lv 44 and I got Legendary Assault Rifle and Legendary Heat Res Pal Armor after Killing Legendary Pals...not sure if this also applies on capturing

The game works like this... every pal has two drop pools, one for normal and one for boss. The boss pools ALL have a rare 3% drop that is either a schematic or an accessory. So every single Pal can offer you something awesome if you kill a boss version, butchering included.

Schematics only drop if you kill or catch ALPHA pals. When you breed pals together, they lose their alpha status, meaning that they become normal pals and wont drop schematics anymore. If you want to double your chances to get schematics, I suggest catching alpha pals and butcher them when you get back to base.

This site contains a loot table that tells you which Alphas can drop which schematics when either caught/defeated/butchered.
So, catching and then butchering basically gives you the best odds: 2 rolls on the loot table.

This sounds like one of those 2000's rumors that spread over GameFAQs and AOL forums meant to trick kids into like, releasing their Mewtwo or something. Not saying it is, but it has that kinda nostalgic vibe.
