Can your character roll and are there bosses with huge health bars?
Is Sonic The Hedgehog is souls-like?

Sonic doesnt roll so much as he spins, i think that comparison is invalid.

Or they can just....add a pausetime function in singleplayer. Too big brain thought hurty small brain I know. You tried.
You the same kinda person who complains there's no pause in souls-like games.
This isn't even a souls like game. Also other survival open world like 7 days and Valheim actually have a pause button for single player. But that's all your argument amounts to when you try to bring in a completely different genre into the fold.

The issue with just going back to the main menu to 'pause' the game for SP is that the game doesn't save remaining time on boss pal respawns. If they haven't respawned when you save the game, then reloading will reset their timer.

I don't really care that there isn't a pause, but people who can't think of a reason why you would want to pause are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ morons.

There's a lot that could be done with single player but in case you haven't looked at the road map more single player content won't be added or considered until after all the multiplayer functionality is addressed and polished if that's even possible when you consider how laggy it is in games like Minecraft, Ark, and World Of Warcraft. Best we can hope for in the short term is more stability across a wider range of hardware for better performance and more FPS. Makes common sense that if stability and performance increases for a large group of people stability and performance for single player should too. I know it sucks to have to load every time but returning to the title screen is our only method until the devs realize just how folly multiplayer truly is nowadays with so many bots and hackers. They basically shot themselves in the foot focusing an open world survival monster collection base farming simulator on multiplayer content before polishing the primary world being showcased.

Yeah, I'm all for having an actual pause button. Not having one in this day and age just feels weird.
I mean, it doesn't make a huge difference to me, it just means I have to go through loading stuff again if I absolutely must get up from my computer. (And that just seems silly)

It's not always that easy. There are lots of reasons taking extra clicks to go to menu, go to the last tab, then click exit to title to actually stop the game can be too much time for someone. Then you come back from dealing with an urgent situation and you've been standing there you and your pals starving etc.

Not everyone lives a calm life where having to leave is planned.

This is always a debate in games that launch without pause and it almost always ends up that eventually the devs do add a pause for single player/offline. But people who don't need to pause alays feel the need to be like "just exit, you're lame of even asking"

This is early access, there are clearly more important stuff than to implement a pause function that you already have if you do as Jackie said
