Got to love they are still trying to push "But game = AI" argument and it all came from a couple of salty devs from other studios heh.
So if the creatures are AI generated, that is the fault of the artist the producer hired. Even if it is, so what? I have seen youtube videos in comparison between Palworld and Pokemon; and though they look similar, Palworld's creatures are different enough to not create a legal issue.
Edit: There is one more thing I just now remembered. It is thanks to this artist, that you have over 100 creatures to capture. It is originally planned to not have that many. So you should be thankful, even if it is AI generated content.

80 hours into Palword, and I'm fine if they used AI art. At least my Pals are fed, unlike Pikachu.
