Ineffective Weapons

Why oh why do they always give you weapons that need to be fired hundreds of times to kill anything? Crap slow weapons. And when there's a raid your 1 Pal who fights coz I don't see the other 4 doing much deals 10 times more damage than any weapon . 1 man against 20 invaders with a potato gun. No wonder everyone is dumping the game

Repair your weapons or they only do a fraction of the damage. Also guns are easy to get, or can be bought in some of the towns. Tier 1 gun does more dmg then tier 2.

This isn't an FPS game, if guns where OP you wouldn't even need Pals, some Pals can be used as weapon like for a exemple a flamethrower, so it's as people have mentionned here.

If you only have 5 pals in your base it means you're a super low level.

If you only have 1 pal attacking, that means you're doing something wrong.

pretty much this.
also, if you're playing in a world/server that has altered some settings, such as making player damage minimal, then no matter what weapon you use, your damage will be non existent.

other than that...

I have a 0,5 damage modifier against enemies due to hard-mode, and I still outdamage most of my pals (granted, the mount element bonus increases it by a good deal).

I had a herd of blue dragons attack my base relatively low level. They razed buildings, stole valuables, raped females, even killed their children. Pals may be cute, but the world is cruel.

Uh, ok OP

I mean considering you should be able to slaughter the entire raid group before they even get to your base, all by yourself…. Definite skill issue….. a term I hate, but uh, definitely legit time to be used……

Please never play Rust, someone like you would need therapy after.
