No option to pet Pals
Were you ever able to pet Pals who are working on base? Cause that option is grayed out for me. Thought I saw online it was a way to help their sanity too.

You can, but it's very finnicky. Usually if it's grayed out that means it hasn't selected properly and is trying to pet your party pal.

If you want a work around the easiest, least frustrating way, is to just toss them into your party really quick and do it there. Same with manually feeding them.

only time i couldnt pet them was if they were too big, like relax lux

I've noticed sometimes the ability to interact with Pals on the base stops working, I'm pretty sure it's just a bug.

Kinda annoying sometimes, tho, like with my workaholic Sparkit that worked herself so hard she got depressed; I tried to grab her to toss her into the hot spring, but nope, didn't budge.
You have to be close enough and the interact button for them appears with the option to lift them.

Thanks you guys; yeah when I get close enough it shows but not for all of them or all the time so that could just be a bug.

I usually throw em in pal box, put em back on base, and then try to do it quick before they run to a task. MOST of the time if they're working on something, it doesn't let me pet or feed em, so you gotta get em quick after they respawn when you place em back in base.

I've noticed if you get that bug, it's always the ones who are WORKING on something that won't show the menu.
... So if you catch one of the Pals who are walking around (not at work or sleeping), you should be able to activate the menu on them then, as long as you get close enough (sometimes it is hard because they won't stop moving to their next job) and it will somehow even fix the bug for the rest of them on that base and will continue to work properly until you leave the base.

Edit: If you can't seem to catch any of them, the easiest trick I've found is to open the Palbox, grab one and place it in the box for a moment, then place it back into the base. That Pal should then fall nearby you (as if they are newly added to the base) and if you rush over before it leaves you should be able to catch it.

Edit 2: A lot of this may sound confusing... But basically:
1. If a Pal is NOT doing a job or sleeping, the menu should always work.
2. Using the menu on any base Pal will fix the bug until you leave that base.
3. Use the Palbox to drop a pal into the base and immediately interact with it, to temporarily 'fix' the bug, if you're needing to interact with a lot of pals.

I tried everything suggested and it doesn't work. I literally even stand on them, so I am close enough and they are not running. but the "pet" button doesn't work..
I Sometimes end up meaning to butcher a pal, then forget to equip the knife, pet him instead, then butcher him.

enjoy your last pet, ♥♥♥♥♥.
But we have the most important option. To butcher pals
