A person training to mimic a style is different than a program tracing or copying the work and shuffling it around.

Also, AI can't be transformative and works made solely by it can't be copywritten. A human has to do the work on some creative level for it to be copyrightable. So it's fair to call it stealing, but more accurate to just call it plagiarism in most cases. Unless it's used in a more procedural sense.

I would put the point over that someone is trying to mimic behind the power of AI, you can also use inpaint and other tools too to manipulate for the desired result.

I agree with you about the copywriting part. Should be open license. Procedurally is mostly the use I believed AI art was used for [or so how I use it heavily] and it can be transformative also with the aid of the tools I mentioned above.
